Your trip to Lijiang isn't completed without a visit here. If you need oksigen tank do buy it at foot hill eitherwise you be paying for more when u reach the top. The only dissapointment is you are not able to walk on the snow as they is a walking platform however the view compromise on that.

From Lijiang to the park entrance takes 25 mins, Have to pay 80 RMB for heritage preservation fee and another 105 RMB to enter park and another 190 RMB for the cable car up to the mountain. So not too cheap to come to this place. Rented a winter coat for 50 RMB and was given a free Oxygen can from a private vendor, not the park. You have to pay another 200 RMB as deposit for the winter coat. Remember to take down the private vendor mobile phone so you can call him when you return the coat. The view on top the mountain was magnificent. Had to climb the walkway for about 45 mins, slowly as it is about 4,500m high and you need the oxygen can. Winter coat was only used in the beginning when you arrive but once you start walking up, you get a little hot and you need to take it off. This is October. If it is cloudy and misty , just wait as the wind will blow it away and you can see the summit of Jade Dragon Mountain. After the visit, do not forget to visit Blue Valley which is only 10 mins drive away . This place has great waterfalls and green blue lakes. Stringly recommended to come to this 2 places. Really beautiful.

Pretty much all the tourist sites I visited in china have a well run bus system, but be warned there is no bus system to here. From old town lijiang you had to walk to a park with a statue of mao and haggle with the minivan drivers so its a pretty expensive trip if you are alone I ended up hooking up with a family to lessen the cost there. Unfortunately when i got there the cable car to the main glacier was down so spent the day walking along a river that they were carving up with fake waterfalls. I feel the park would be better if there was a network of hiking trails layer out

Me and my family went over Chinese National Holiday which was a big mistake due to the crowds and the infrastructure being unable to handle the crowds. It was a 600 rmb taxi ride to get to and from downtown Lijiang to Snow Mountain, 105 rmb per person entrance plus 80 rmb for Heritage fund fee. The cable car (which I did not take) was 200 rmb per person. The weather was horrible. Cloudy and raining. So I suggest that you do not try to visit unless the weather is fantastic. The taxi's were all off the meter and they were a huge rip off.

Me and my family came on National Holiday in Oct 2013. That was the first mistake for there were too many people. From Lijiang about 35 km away it cost me 600 rmb to have a taxi take me to and from Snow Mountain. Once there it costs 105 rmb per person for entrance and 80 rmb for World Culture Heritage fee. Then we were let off in a field for a parking lot to go wait in a huge line for buses (probably with another fee) to take you to a lift (200rmb per person) to take you to the top of the mountain. It was cloudy when we arrived so one could not see the mountains or the valleys below and it started raining. Maybe it would be better if the weather was good and not with the huge crowds which the infrastructure is not prepared for...but i was terribly disappointed.
