I have another review that's similar so putting here some basics from that. It's nearly 15,000 feet at the top (4506M) so you will not want to do this if you are not prepared for altitude (like staying nearby for a couple days to get used to the altitude) or if you are in poor health. It is life threatening if you get altitude sickness since there's no chopper ride out. Know the symptoms and get off the mountain immediately if you experience any of them. Drink plenty of bottled water.
It's a great view and worth the drive up the treacherous mountain road with no guardrails to get to there. You can get oxygen cans if needed (recommend highly) as even I was dizzy just stepping off the gondola. You can buy some souveniers at the top, tube ride on the glacier and walk out on it, and enjoy an espresso even (good, but not great). Some light food items too are at the top.
Take the bus down to the river and falls area too...well worth the effort. Go in spring to avoid the crowds.
