Our two week stay at the Villa was great. What impressed us most where the friendly people employed at the Villa. Absolutely everybody was a pleasure to deal with. The room was spacious and comfortable and clean with ocean view as promised. We enjoyed the pools and the beach, visited the gym and took in several of the nightly enteainment features, particularily enjoying the Mayan, bohemian and caribean nights.
The breakfast buffet was absolutely great and had great meals in all the restaurants. We visited the store a few times which had a good selection of products.

Room Tip: Our room on the 6th floor was was quiet with a nice view of the ocean and across to Isla Mujeres.

The good:
The resort was beautiful, well maintained, wonderful friendly staff, excellent pools, plenty of lounge chairs at both the pool and beach and the beach had beach beds. The all inclusive is the best way to go.
The rooms were beautiful and the beds and pillows were super comfortable.
Bars were plentiful and the bartenders were great. The quality of the liquor was very good and they had a variety of beer which is unusual for an all inclusive. They had waiters on the beach and by the pool, so you could just relax and didn't have to get up to eat or drink.
They also had a Superbowl Party which was fun.
The not so good:
Beach - Nice, but storms had brought a lot of seaweed to the beach and they had a tractor that tried to clean it up once a day but it didn't work very well. They could have done a better job maintaining it.
Food: The steak house was great, Japanese good, bite bar and tiki bar for lunches were good, but I didn't like the Greek and am not a fan of Mexican food. They had a strange mix of restaurants. While most people like steak, to have the others restaurants be Japanese, Mexican and Greek was a bit odd. The food was often hit or miss and was expensive if you weren't on the all inclusive plan. Also, because ours was included we had an appetizer, salad and entree, while people that didn't have the meal plan thought there wasn't enough food because it was too expensive to have all courses. They also had 24 hour room service for all inclusives.
Concierge and Tour agent on site: Asked about the Isle of Mujeres which we took a 40 minute ferry ride to and is right next to the resort. While the concierge said it was a good trip, we got there to find that it was just people hawking things. When we returned, we found out that there was a lot to do on the island but the concierge never mentioned anything. I also heard from people that they were less than happy with the tour they booked through the onsite tour agency.

All in all, we had a great time. It was further away from the airport than the hotel zone was, but there wasn't traffic so it took about the same amount of time to get there. Also, book your private car through Entertainment Plus on line and pay less for a private car than others charge for a shared van and much cheaper than a cab.

Room Tip: I booked through Cheap Caribean and my booking said that we could get an upgrade if it was available...

My husband and I spent a lovely week here and we would definitely return for a relaxing holiday again. I had read so many negative reviews prior to our stay that I was rather anxious about staying here; however, we loved it. Our one-bedroom suite was beautiful and had a large balcony with a great view. It was clean and we found the staff to be friendly and generally service-oriented. The property is beautiful and there are lots of options for sitting by quiet pools, at family pool areas or at the beach. There are organized fitness classes for those that want them and a well-equipped gym.

I had read previous reviews about the distance of the resort from Cancun and the Hotel zone and the need to spend a lot on cabs so I was worried that the resort would be too remote. We have been to Cancun before and didn't feel compelled to leave the property to shop. Consequently, we had a very relaxing trip and didn't take cabs. Because the food was good we didn't feel a need to go elsewhere for meals.

We opted not to buy the meal plan and that was a good decision for us. We wouldn't have consumed enough to make it worthwhile, particularly since we enjoy wine and the house wine wasn't to our taste. We ate all of our dinners at the resort restaurants and found them all to be good. La Casona was the most expensive and our least favourite. The resort offers a Mexican red wine called Datemba that we enjoyed and found to be very reasonably priced.

We had pre-arranged transportation from the airport to the resort and our taxi driver stopped at a Mexican grocery store en route so we could buy groceries and beverages.

The resort isn't perfect and at times, the service was inconsistent. For instance, we called room service for ice one day. (There are no ice machines.) After 2 calls and no ice I went to the store and bought a huge bag for $3 - cheaper than tipping someone to bring it. On a couple of occasions we called guest services with questions and were told that they would call us back. They didn't. The resort strives to be high calibre and generally does a good job. Overall, it exceeded our expectations.

My wife, friend, and I recently stayed at the Villa Del Palmar resort and spa in Cancun. After reading many reviews, we were a little concerned. First, the rooms were absolutely amazing. Very spacious, clean, and new. The staff all around the resort was very friendly and always saying “hola” as we walked by. The resort itself was also very immaculate and the grounds were amazing. The beach was small and did contain sea weed, but it is an ocean after all. One of the downfalls was having to sign for everything. Every time you have a drink or purchase food you have to sign a slip. There is a monetary amount on it but you won’t be charged if you have the all inclusive. We read reviews about problems with dinner reservations. You do have to have a reservation for each night, VERY EASY. The concierge will take care of all of it for you if you want. Each of the restaurants had amazing food. Roberto is great at Davino. Frida always remembered our last name when she was the hostess at several restaurants. I would recommend ALL of them! The snack bar is okay. What made the snack bar great was Giovanni. He was always smiling, very friendly and easy to talk to. He brought food to us at the beach =). My wife ordered room service for breakfast almost every morning. Fresh fruit and the Green Juice- Alejandro usually delivered and set up the breakfast on our balcony. He was a very nice gentleman. There have two different bars that have swings to sit instead of stools, very fun! The drinks can be a little weak but ask the bartenders to make a double and its good. The bartenders are awesome as well (Jose, Ismael and Jorge were great!). They obviously do appreciate tips, and we did at times, but they still take care of you very well either way. There were activities everyday. Victor was a great personal trainer ( and yoga, Pilates) and Angel was also great announcing the shows every night. I would definitely recommend going to this resort for a quiet, relaxing vacation as it’s in “new Cancun” and not as crowded or crazy like the hotel zone in “old Cancun.”

My wife and I went to this resort with four friends. It was our first experience at an all inclusive resort.

Pros: Beautiful spont on the beach, beautiful room, lobby and restaurants. Excellent service for the most part (couple of wait staff were average but most were excellent) Restaurant food was very good.

Cons: Beware of the timeshare pitch. You get a discount on things but believe me its not worth the aggrevation. When you decide you don't want it - the sales staff turn mean on you. It is not a pleasent experience. Also music starts outside at 7;30 so keep your windows closed if you want to sleep in.

This hotel is not near the hotel zone so it is a significant cab ride away from the action. if the action is what you want, this is not the area for you. if you want a quiet vacation when you lay on the beach and read a book, this is the place for you. Personally, I wanted the latter and got exactly what I wanted.

This was our first visit to this resort and it far exceeded our highest expectations. The staff was phenomenal, the grounds, pool, and beach were well maintained . The food was excellent. The
spa folks (Freddy) were very accomodating and proficient. I had the best deep tissue massage which alieviated a lot of back pain from a degenerative disk. Victor, who wears many hats had me stetching to pilates and yoga, ran a cooking class re: raw fish, a mixolgy class that gave us 4 free island drinkss. The pool staff trained my wife in paddle boarding and kayaking, both free for the asking. The room was spacious and the views were stunning. The best Mexican vacation we have ever had. Kudos to all.

Room Tip: Our room was in building 6. we had fantastic views and no direct sun during the afternoon hours...

This resort is amazing. Hospitality was top notch. Have traveled a lot and have never been treated this special. I was hesitant because of some poor reviews such as the nagging time share people (which are very persistant but we loved the resort so much we were as much to blame because we wanted to come back) to the smelly water which doesn't smell at all. Wait staff was amazing! Cleanest place I have EVER been. Only complaint I ha entire time was the persistant time share but like i said that was part out fault, and checkout because they had a hold on account to ensure they get their money but because of that they tried to say our card was declined but I knew how much was on it so I knew it was wrong. I had to call cc company and get them to tell me that's when I was told about the hold. When they cleared it it went through. But After all that we missed our flight and had to pay an additional 400$ fee for a flight change. The checkout girl at the front desk was very snotty. Only person at whole resort that was like that. So maybe after I am remembering the missed flight I should dock it to 90% but I won't over one rude not very intelligent person. The rest of the resort and staff are the best! Just reimburse me my 400$ and well be square! 100% lol
