I will agree this is an absolutely beautiful resort very appealing to the eyes. Which is why we decided to make a return trip, our first visit was the same time last year for two weeks all inclusive. To think we were in the exact same room 2506B. This year we did one week (Sat, June 15 - Sat, Jun 22) on our own and the service has gone down, being pool side waiting 30-40 mins just to be services. Housekeeping in cleaning the rooms would not leave replacement towels at times, we would call to have them delivered and they would never show up so we would have to track down the ladies with cleaning carts the next morning. Then if that wasn't bad enough on Thursday I was in the shower and a cockroach appeared which freaked me out, I screamed for my husband to come an kill it. I went down to the front desk and spoke with Manuel who apologized for my experience and assured me he would send up someone to take care of the situation. Since we were heading out to the hotel zone this was fine it would give them the needed time to properly spray and clean the room. When we returned to our room it appeared that action had been taken. Later that evening we received a bottle of wine in our room. Now Friday mid morning the hubby and I relaxing in the room as this is our last full day on the resort and we get a knock on the door, it's the exterminator.....I'm like really he comes in does his job the fumes give me an instant migraine!!! I immediately go and speak to the Manager on duty Victoria who also apologized for the lack of communication on the resorts part as they were not able to get an exterminator out until then....she mentioned that something would be done for our inconvenience. However later that evening we saw another one, the night manager tried to say it was due to the resort being in the jungle .....really how old are you and don't insult my intelligence!!

I couldn't sleep now because I'm freaked out, my last days on the resort was ruined.....it would have been simple just to switch our room out. However they were saying they were at capacity but we we're not seeing a lot a people and we passed by a lot of empty rooms. When it was all said and done we were discounted one of our dinners!! So after two years of visiting this resort this is definitely our last time vacationing here. We will stick with the Villa group in Cabo absolutely love that one!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 days. I do not understand why this resort gets bad reviews. It's a beautiful resort with a friendly staff. We booked the All Inclusive package. We had access to all of the restaurants and 24 hour room service. Hiroshi was by far the best restaurant at this resort. The sushi was always fresh. Davino's is excellent for breakfast! Our room was spacious and cleaned daily. It's a great resort for those who seek relaxation :)
Mario Lopez stayed at this resort the same week we did!

Had a wonderful time; beautiful resort; friendly staff; excellent food! Will travel there again! Even timeshare experience wasn't bad. Loved the decor of the rooms....and I didn't realize that there was so much marble available in the world (just kidding) as every room was tiled with marble! I have referred several friends to Villa del Palmar. Even though it wasn't required, we tipped everyone who waited on us....they deserved it! Pre-arrange airport transfer before you come as $40.00 is a bit much to travel one way from the hotel to the airport.

Overall....Excellent place to travel to!

Room Tip: Get room above 3rd floor for great ocean view.

I cannot believe what an amazing experience I had here. The pictures and online descriptions are NOTHING compared to the real deal. The resort itself is absolutely beautiful. I've never seen better service from the staff: they were all friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome as if I was at home. By the third day I was calling them by their name and saying good morning, etc. There were activities happening at all time so I was NEVER bored. 5 different restaurants allowed me to try different cuisines and they were all delicious! The only downside is that it is a little far from the Hotel Zone in Cancun, but the resort does provide a free shuttle to the malls in Cancun. Plus, if you like privacy, the location of the hotel allows for private beach away from all the tourists. SECURITY was PERFECT also, they monitored every time you went in and out, so nobody could get into the property unannounced. I am DYING to go back here.

Room Tip: Every room has an ocean view, so any room you pick will be awesome!

Beautiful resort and the room ws one of the best appointed we've stayed in as members. The cusine here was wonderful, absolutly the best of any Villa group resort we've experienced. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Now for the downer stuff. We arrived and was supposed to have booke a 2 bedroom, we had a one bedroom upon check-in. As a premium member I'm supposed to be abel to up grade on arrival if available. Was told I'd have to wait untill Sunday to find out.. In the mean time we got a noise in the vent above the juccizie tub that they couldn't fix, Then the next morning water flooded our kitchen from the room above. Finally the manager got us the 2 bedroom we were supposed to have when we arrived. Then in the miove my wife left he cell phone and heating pad behind as we were changing rooms. We went back to get it and it they were both gone. No one could find it either. So you can pretty much guess what happened to it. Another negative with this resort there is no express check out or members check out area. Your put in line with everyone else. Membership should have the same privilidges in every resort, but aparently not at this one.
Cancun it self was a mess with police extorting cash from tourists for non-existant traffic charges, to prices three times as high as youd pay on the west coast of Mexico for the exact same product. We went there for a family wedding and that was great, but I have no other reason to ever go back to this area of Mexico.

Pool side service is so slow! Room service is rude. We had $360 cash taken from our room safe and the hotel essentially said tough luck. Reservation desk can't get reservations correct for dinner. You think you have a reservation , show up only to be told your not on the list and YOU probably called the wrong number to make the reservation! Scheduled a trip to Telum and a Water Park for 5 PLp thru hotel, was told it was all inclusive . $105/ per person . Including food and water, pop and alcohol. Got there, no alcohol. Not that we're big drinkers, but a cold beer on a hot day would have been nice. Just another feather in the cap. Location is poor. Beach is dirty. You are so far from town and shopping it's a $40 cab ride one way! All in all we won't go back. They can't be trusted!!!

Quiet location - You can stay happy and entertained very easily at the resort. However if you want on go into town it's a short ride on shuttle bus or taxi. Do take the ferry over to the isla mujeres. It was wonderful. The resort and outer areas offer many activities so their is plenty to see. We met friendly locals and felt vey safe. Not near other resort hotels - Go before this area grows to become more crowded.

Room Tip: Oceanview rooms are great. Our balcony had a hammock which was great for relaxing or reading. It...
