“Absolutely AMAZING!”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We had the best time at the BELOVED HOTEL. Everything was excellent from the time we arrived. We stayed in room 333 which is one of the Ocean view terrace suites with plunge pool. The views from this room were AMAZING. The room was sparkling clean. I never experienced maid service like this before. Maid service 2x/day if you want. The shower was huge and loaded with jets. The staff are fabulous. Eduardo on the beach rocks. We always had fresh drinks and food. Special thanks to Moses and Emiliano for restaurant dinner service. They were our favorite evening servers. Also special thanks to Susana at El Mar. Crispy Fish Tacos were phenomenal at Isla Grill. The beach is beautiful and calm. We went for our anniversary in July. The temperature of the water in the pools, beach, and plunge pool were perfect. This resort is perfect if you are looking for a romantic, relaxing, serene time. If you are looking to party every night then it's not for you. Lights are out pretty much around 11ish-midnight but you can party in your room with a fully stocked bar(snacks, juices, soda, beer, and liquor). This isn't an adult only but it felt like an adult only and there were plenty of kids there when we went. I'm guessing they were just as relaxed as the adults. We have stayed at other all inclusives in Mexico and this is by far the BEST. We will DEFINITELY be back.

Room Tip: If you want an ocean view terrace suite with plunge pool. Ask for room 333.

It's been 3 weeks since we returned from spending 2 wonderful weeks at The Beloved. Our family of 5 (3 teens) needed to unwind and relax and we found exactly what we were looking for at this resort. The service we received really made a difference - Noe, Christian, Antonio, Karla to mention a few particular individuals, were AMAZING!!

The rooms were very well appointed, clean and well looked after. The pools were clean, quiet and relaxing.

The food was fantastic! We were extremely pleased to not have buffets for every meal or have to make specific reservations at the restaurants. The breakfast buffet was excellent and it was nice to be able to order off the menu or have an omelette made for us. Lunch was either on the beach or at the El Mar (hut) restaurant or at the Isla Grill. Service again was excellent as was the drink service throughout our stay. Dinner was always a hit and we never found that our choice was limited or that there wasn't enough variety. The menus at the restaurants were not huge but had a nice variety - anything we tried, we were happy with. Noe made our last night at The Beloved, a meal to remember. We were treated like celebrities and he went well above and beyond with every detail from setting the table with flower petals and a very special meal just for us! Thank you!

The spa was another terrific experience, the Agua Viva was a nice addition to our treatments!

We would love to go back and will certainly consider The Beloved when we need a relaxing break again!

We miss everyone - from The Taylor Family :)

We visited the hotel Aug 30-Sept 5. We booked our trip online with the Beloved website-including transportation to/from the hotel. We arrived at the airport and found our driver ( is chaos there and had to ask someone where to find him. Look for the Excellence hotel guy). We arrived safely at The Beloved in about 1/2 hour. The driver was careful although didn't speak to us at all.
We checked in and were shown to our room. I booked a 2 story room in an ocean front casita( a stand alone building not inside the main hotel). I was so disappointed in this room. We were in the Carineros casita and you could not see the ocean at all from the room and barely from the second story. I called the front desk and they said they couldn't move us due to a wedding-the resort was full-but to call on Monday and they would move us. The wedding was at the restaurant right below our room with a Dj and dancing. It might as well been in our room it was so loud. I do not think they should put non wedding guests in this casita -it is so loud and although it lasted til 11pm-there was no way to sleep-read or watch tv at all until it was over. The room itself was okay-do not think I would spend extra money for the 2 story-the 'plunge pool' on the second story was just a fiberglass hot tub filled with water. It also had a bed on the deck. I don't think its worth the extra cost-there are three large pools in the resort and a bed on the deck of the room itself.
After I got over my disappointment-we went to the beach. It is a bit more narrow than I expected but it was clean and the water did not have any seaweed at all-beautiful. A few things to note-the bed in the room is super hard-I had to have two toppers put on just to get a decent nights sleep. And the wooden chairs on the beach are super hard since the cushions are worn and thin. The walls are thin-can hear the people next door and I was not crazy about the bathroom being so open-no privacy really. Shower was really nice!
On Monday we were told we could move two casitas down from where we were. We did not feel this warranted packing all our stuff up for. So we stayed in our assigned room. On Tues it was rainy so we went to the spa. When we came back -there was a leak in our room and a puddle was forming by the mirrors in the bathroom. The maintenance men came down immed. and told us we had to change rooms. We went to the front desk and they assigned us to the Penthouse!! WOW -talk about a gorgeous room! It is furthest away from the ocean but the best view. If you can afford this (we can't!) I suggest you book it-you won't be disaapointed. It is amazing.
Food: I will have to say for an all inclusive the food was pretty good. Breakfast was in the Aroma restaurant-if you don't see it on the menu or the buffet-ask for it and they will make it for you. Lunch most days we ate at the restaurant on the beach itself called El Mar. Good food-guacamole delicious and believe it or not-the pizza was fantastic! I had that most days for lunch. We ate lunch at the Isla Grill one day and the food was just okay. I had shrimp fajitas and they were those little bay shrimp-not what I expected being right on the ocean.
We only ate dinner a few times as we weren't that hungry. Once sushi-just okay nothing great. Once Isla Grill-so/so. Once Lupinos-very good. I recommend the kukulcan dinner which was shrimp scallops and mussels over risotto. Delicious and very fresh.
Spa-we booked a couples massage and it was very nice. Was the spa special that day. Also included an hour of water hydrotherapy. I did not know much about this and found it just okay. It was a mix between hot and cold water treatments. I didn't care for the cold ones! Opted out of having a cold bucket of water dumped on my head. We didn't realize we would have someone providing this service and had to run back to the room for a tip since we only brought enough to tip for our massage. I know people rave about this but I didn't love it.
The one thing I do have to say about the Beloved is that I have never-not even at the four seasons or ritz carlton-had better service. They work their butts off to make sure you are happy. If you call the desk about something-they send someone to the room immediately and follow up with a call to make sure the issue is resolved. The waiters on the beach were incredible! They are constantly on the move and bring you food or drinks all day long. We did tip them for every drink but saw a lot of people not tipping and they were still working hard for them. We mostly had Daniel and Luis while we were there on the beach but everyone in all the areas of the hotel worked hard to make sure we were happy. The wait staff at all the restaurants were great as well as the bartenders.
Upon checkout the Gen Mgr came out and asked us our thoughts. I told him the two casitas on the right should be rented as Ocean View not Ocean Front-and that's even stretching it! He wrote it down and apologized. I did comment on his well trained staff and appreciated the great service

Room Tip: I would not bother with a two story casita unless you have kids and you need a quiet place once they...

We visited the beloved for our honeymoon and it was wonderful. From the moment we arrived we were treated like kings by all the staff.
The rooms are amazing, bed very comfortable and room service very tasty!

Only tip we would give is- when booking off site excursions make sure you go through the front desk and not the men on the beach, we almost got scammed here- luckingly the hotel was on hand to sort it all out!

We are already planning our return trip to the beloved!m

Where to start....
We spent 3 months researching vacation spots and came across this GEM! No wonder it is rated the #1 hotel in Playa Mujeres! Everything was amazing from the moment we arrived. Here are the details:

Pros:
-Staff is beyond excellent. They are so nice and generous and accommodating. Not once did I feel judged for any requests. Always with a smile and always with the nicest attitude.
-The resort itself is great. Pretty white buildings everywhere... probably to keep the resort as cool as possible.
-The beach front casita which we were in was right on the beach... amazing.
-The drinks were great.
-Beach is calm due to a huge island in the distance.
-The resort almost feels empty even when it is full.
-You would have to try NOT to relax here.

Cons:
-The food wasn't that good, even for all-inclusive.
-Nothing "wow" about the night-life... there isn't one.
-The desserts were very simple and plain.
-All lights turn off at 11PM.

My wife and I stayed here for about a week when we were on our honeymoon.
Place is very clean, well maintained and has plenty to do.
all the staff were friendly and we especially loved the outdoor live music bar area.
If you want to go out and do activities it could be a little far which will cost you extra for longer cab rides but other than that this place was just amazing.

My wife and I stayed at the The Beloved on Labor Day Weekend and highly recommend it. Short ride from the airport with Cancun Transfers, $70 (cheaper than the hotel car service $140). No waiting to check in, giving cold towel and champagne upon arrival. We tried to upgrade at the checkin and there was a wedding that weekend so no dice but no problem we got exactly what we booked. Ocean view room with Jacuzzi. Room was immaculate, stocked bar, huge balcony with bed, awesome shower with five shower heads and big enough for 5 people to shower at once. Room was very quiet. Excellent maid service, 2x a day. AC was kept on at 68 all weekend, very nice and cool.

Excellent mojitos at La Isla and all of the bars. Never needed a reservation to eat, no waiting. # big pools and only time it was crowded was when wedding guests all piled into pool with swim up bar. Only downside was swim up bar had one bartender and closed at 530pm, otherwise great. No problem getting drinks from loads of waiters at pool or on beach.

Ate dinner at Amora two nights, both nights had different dinner options, Italian night and Moroccan night in addition to normal menu. Mary was our waitress both nights and she was excellent and very personable.

Great addon was the catarman from the hotel to Isla Mujeres, the boat is docked across the street and leaves at 9am and returns around 4-5pm. $55 includes free beer and water. Boat stops for 45 mins to let you snorkel and then drops you on island and you can book a golf cart thru the captain for $40. Island is perfect for golf cart and we saw whole island in 2 hours, spent an hour at Playa Norte and had cocktails on the beach and did a little shopping.

Spent a day at the spa with the novios ritual, which includes an hour long hydrotherapy program called aqua viva. A series of hot and cold water, steam, sauna and waterfall experiences that total relax you before the massage. After massage, which was great, they give you a hot bath in milk soap, only down side is the tub is too big for short people who are lathered up in oil and you have to fight to keep from sliding below the surface, which definitely takes away from the relaxing.

Had a wonderful time, excellent food and we are picky, and highly recommend it.
