Our family stayed 5 nights in late June and thought our vacation at the Beloved was probably our best ever. Our friends had stayed at the hotel for several weeks last year and they raved about their stay. We haven't been on a proper vacay in a few years, so decided to splurge a bit on a penthouse suite, which Carina was helpful in securing. The room decor was not necessarily the best, but it was SUPER clean and really, really BIG. The plunge pool on the terrace was a definite hit with our 6yo twins.
The food was quite good, especially for an all-inclusive resort. We really only had one misfire of a meal and the rest were very good to outstanding.
The service is truly what sets this place apart. From the initial greeters to the guys that re-stock the snack bar in your room, EVERYONE is super-friendly and polite. As they get to know your preferences, they actually look for ways to make your stay special. For example, Noe, a waiter, knew I liked a grilled fish dish I had for dinner one night and when he saw me the next day, he went out of his way to let me know about a special fresh fish the chef had gotten that day. On Wednesday's they have a special paella at the beach restaurant that they do not ordinarily serve the rest of the week. When we told the restaurant manager, David, how much our daughter loved it, he went out of his way to arrange for the chef to make it the next day at lunch- just for our family. Everyday they stock your fridge w/ drinks and candy and will basically put whatever you want in it.
The kids club was terrific. We were a little weary of leaving our kids alone in Mexico, but Africa and Wendy were awesome. The kids got to do projects and come back nice and mellow.
The pools were tremendous. They are all about 3.5-4ft deep so never much concern about the kids getting in to any trouble. One of them is HUGE and there was virtually never anyone in it. The kids could splash/play without ever really bothering anyone.
The gym was quite good for a hotel. All the equipment is modern and clean, and the space is a very good size.
There is not much nearby the hotel which was perfect for us. I have to commute a lot for work, so the goal was to not get in to a car the entire time. The people staying at the hotel were primarily families with younger children. Most everyone was very mellow and we really only experienced one or two obnoxious folks abusing the unlimited booze.
Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel. We haven't already started planning for our return trip next year.
