We had a great time at the Beloved. As good as the food and drink was, as beautiful as the hotel and beach were, the service was the most outstanding feature of our trip. The staff was genuinely happy to do anything to make our stay perfect.

Our anniversary trip started out pretty rocky…our flight was cancelled, we were re-routed then our next flight was delayed which ended up making us miss our connecting flight. We were only going for a long weekend (Thursday-Monday), so missing one of our days in Cancun was a big deal to us!

When we finally arrived at the STUNNING Beloved Hotel, they upgraded our room free of charge due to the flight trouble we had experienced (which was in no way their fault). This moment set the tone for the duration of our stay. The service is out of this world! Anything you want, they will provide--with a genuine smile! We were not told "no" the entire time we were there!!

THE ROOM: We stayed in an Ocean View Terrace Suite with Plunge Pool. The room was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated and stocked! We had a jacuzzi tub, bottomless premium liquor in the mini bar, HUGE walk-it shower with rain spout and handheld shower head, king size bed, private pool on our rather large terrace…the works!!

THE FOOD: I did not meet a meal that I didn't like!! The food was absolutely delicious! Their fresh ingredients, attention to detail and options were awesome! I am a vegetarian and most places offer a salad or one option that is usually not something to write home about. NOT HERE! They had a vegetarian menu at each restaurant and the food was soooo good!!! I still dream about the vegetarian sandwich and risotto. My husband who is not a vegetarian also commented on how good all of the meat options were! His favorite was the pork medallions--a recommendation from the waiter.

THE SERVICE: From the bellman, to the front desk staff, to the bartenders/servers, to the managers, the service was OUTSTANDING!! The bellman took us on a tour of the grounds before taking us to our room and was very patient with our questions.

The front desk staff were soooo helpful! We spent way too much time on the phone with Expedia/American Airlines trying to get a refund or an extra day because of the flight trouble we had. The people at the front desk volunteered to stay on hold and talk to Expedia for us so that we could enjoy our vacation.
The waitstaff and barstaff worked so hard to make sure that we enjoyed ourselves. No request was too much and they were happy to do it--whether we tipped or not. Make sure to visit Guillermo at the lobby bar, he made the best Appletini I have ever had--with fresh apples! The morning we were leaving, our flight was at 7am. We were able to get a cooked to order breakfast--pancakes, bacon, eggs, fresh-squeezed juice--delivered to our room at 4am!

Carina, the manager, was so helpful! We were unsure of where to return our rental car for our flight that left at 7am. She called the rental company and spoke to them, got a cell phone number for the manager for us to be sure that someone was there when we arrived to return the car (when we arrived, we had to wait a long time because nobody was at the Europcar airport desk to help us). I cannot say enough about how good the service was!!!

THE GROUNDS: the landscaping was gorgeous! Both pools were well kept and the lounge beds/chairs were cleaned throughout the day! The beach was lovely!

THE SPA: We booked a couples massage (the Los Novios Ritual and are very glad we did! The Hydrotherapy at the beginning was something that we had never experienced before, but enjoyed it! Our massage was very relaxing (with the exception of my husband's snoring haha). After the massage, we soaked in a relaxing milk mousse bath with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. The therapists were very professional and did a great job!

We had the most amazing anniversary trip and owe it to the Beloved Hotel!! We cannot wait to return!!

Having not been on a proper family holiday for approaching 20 years and spending more money than we ever had previously on a break this trip had a lot of expectations riding on it. We were not dissapointed. Apart from a minor mix up with rooms on arrival which was resolved next day everything was perfect. Christian, Perfecto & Dometreo in particular were brilliant. After 12 days the menus became a bit repatative but in fairness the management had personally said we could request anything. And the food was always of a very high standard. The beaches were fab, clean and again the service was brilliant. Baskets of fresh towels are always available both at the beach and the pools and the water activites excellent. If you were to ask would I want to go back? You bet, I'd be on the next flight out.

Room Tip: next time I would try for a top floor room as the marble floors did produce noise from the room abov...

Rooms - We stayed in Hermosa 4 (two story casita) - wonderful view! some of the guest we traveled with stayed in Hermosa 2 which was also a wonderful review and very convenient with a path to the pool, isla grill and beach very close. hermosa 4 does not have a direct pathway. The pools on the bottom floor of the casitas are definitely more than double the size of the two story casitas. The bottom floor casita pools are made of concrete while the two story casita pool is a shallow plastic pool (similar to a hot tub size). The views from all of the two story casitas would be nice. However, the view from some of the bottom floor casitas are not all good. Bella 1 and 2, for example, is facing the beach but the view is blocked by shrubs and Bella 2 is right next to the walkway path. My parents stayed in room 232 and they had a visible view of the ocean (this is the fourth floor - floors started at 0). I think if you are wanting to definitely have an oceanview, floors four and five would be best.

Restaurants - The food is very good! If you enjoy a drawn out restaurant experience, you'll love it. Most of the portions are smaller and we had several
courses so many of our restaurant experiences were over 2 hours. "Wrapped in Tequila" and Pazole were our favorite appetizers at Lupita. Golden Margarita was our favorite margarita. Lobster at Isla Grill and scallops and beef tenderloin at Lupita were our favorite main courses. We didn't make it to Aroma for dinner. We didn't plan well. Aroma is closed on the evenings when El Mar at the beach is open. We went with a group of 7 and they were very accommodating at the restaurants and we never had to wait to be seated. The restaurants are not over crowded like many hotels where reservations are required. Noe was a great waiter at Isla Grill - his service was superb. We had some of our best dinners with him as our waiter. We might suggest to the hotels adding some hot desserts rather than just pre-made desserts (although many are yummy). My husband says he would enjoy larger sized desserts (American sized I guess).

Hotel Comparison - In this area, we've now been to The Beloved (2012, 2013), Dreams Cancun Riveria Maya (2010) and the Royal Playa del Carmen (2006). All very nice hotels. The Beloved is our favorite though.

Dress code - online it says pants are not required but when you get to the hotel it says the two inside restaurants require pants for men. Compared to a US restaurant, it is a little warm in the inside restaurants so lighter pants would be most enjoyable for most men.

Airport Transfers - We booked a private airport transfer thru the hotel. Seasons Tours is the company that the hotel used. We had half our group on one airline and the other half on a different airline (American) that were both suppose to land at similar times. The American flight was delayed a few hours and the hotel was great about getting a second vehicle to pick up the group delayed. I emailed the hotel concierge as soon as we knew the flight was delayed and they responded very timely. The price was very reasonable, the vehicles were very clean, and the drivers were very professional. I would definitely recommend this private transfer.

Tours - We went sailing with a company thru the hotel. It was a lot of fun. We did the private tour. We stopped at Isla Mujeres. My husband and I didn't enjoy the island that much, especially when you're paying for the boat by the hour and not on it. The part of Isla Mujeres we saw was only enjoyable if you want to shop and don't mind the haggling or pushy people. If you do a private tour you can do whatever you want. The boat stopped for us to snorkel - saw lots of fish. My dad did a fishing tour and had fun but 6 out if 7 got seasick so wouldn't recommend if you get motion sickness at all. My dad does not get queazy very easily. He had absolutely no problem in the sailboat with sickness.

We stayed at the Beloved for a very needed 2 weeks, me, my husband and 3 year old. From the minute we got there to the time we left it was just a wonderful experience. We loved our room, a Swim up, which went right out onto one of the pools, the different restaurants served excellent food, the staff were always friendly and helpful, and went out of there way to make our stay comfortable.
The spa is expensive, but truly worth a treat, and the pre appointment for the Hydro treatment is such a wonderful experience.
Having stayed at the Banyan Tree Bangkok, I would say that the service and level of stay is on a par with this, and having travelled from the UK, it was worth the 10 hour long haul flight.
I would recommend this hotel to any family or couple, it is actually a honey moon destination too.
The only one gripe is that the rooms on the bottom floor, are a bit of a corridor, and you can hear all the noise of people going along, so it can be reasonably noisy, perhaps they need to think of sound proofing this aspect of the rooms, this is why I have given them an average for sleep quality.
The beach is really lovely too, clean, beautiful white sand and clear water.
We are planning our next trip back.
Thank you Beloved Hotel, you are our favourite hotel in the whole world.

This was our first time staying at an all inclusive resort. We have cruised multiple times, and this is a great alternative to the inclusive benefits of cruising. Because you stay at one place, you never have to dress formally. You can pack light to stay here! The only dress code in the evening is that you don't wear beach clothing to the more formal restaurants. We felt pampered from the moment we entered onto the gated property and were even greeted with champagne before we checked in! We travelled with our family consisting of 5 adults and a toddler. Both of our rooms were very spacious and the terrace suite was huge with a shallow jetted pool and waterfalls! The grounds are magnificent and meticulously maintained. The resort has so many places to lounge between the multiple pools and beaches that, even though they were fully booked, we didn't feel like there were many people there. It is very well staffed and we always had someone waiting on us no matter where we relaxed on the property. All the drinks and food were included-even the 24 hour room service. The food was better than on a cruise and the drinks had premium liquor. The only improvement could be a better selection of wines by the glass. We also used the fitness center which had well maintained equipment along with multiple weight machines. There are 2 hotels in the same chain on adjacent properties. One is adults only (The Excellence) and the other is family oriented. Even though The Beloved caters to families, we never felt like we were on a "Disney Cruise". There are many different places to relax and most of them have plenty of lounge chairs. The only place that could use more chairs is the pool with the swim up bar (which had a great bartender). They have a separate play area for the kids with a smoothie bar and all of the restaurants' staff was accommodating to our toddler. The one thing to be aware of is that meal times typically can take an hour to 2 hours because of the relaxed nature of the staff - so if you have a child, please bear this in mind.
