“Great stay!”
Reviewed August 3, 2011

A cosy little pearl of an accommodation in sleepy little village of Porto Pino. Great hostess Paola, a very nice room (was called Arancia) decorated with an eye to detail. Loved also the garden and the possibilty to lay there on a sunbed surrounded by blossoming plants. Breakfast on the upstairs terrace with a terrific view on the seashore and dunes. Only downside - room was a bit noisy for late sleepers ;)

We were also taken by their cool moody housecat Theo and dog Lupo, they added lots of character to the place!!

PS Don't let yourself be confused about the address - at first we ended up in Sant Anna Aresi, as the address line said, but in fact it was in a much better location, hidden on a leafy hillstreet of Porto Pino!

We stayed for a week in June 2010 and had a really nice time. The owners are welcoming and friendly and were impressed by our attempts at Italian. The view from the breakfast terrace is one of the best on the island. The rooms are basic with a good ensuite bathroom and have everything you need, although they could do with air conditioning especially if you are planning to go in July or August.

Porto Pino town is a 5 minute walk (or 10 minutes walk back up the hill!) and has one or two restaurants and bars but certainly isnt a bustling resort. It gets a bit busier at the weekend but as with many places along this coast, its fairly quiet! Still, its nice for evening walks with nice sunsets on the beach.

You have a choice of two beaches - the main Porto Pino one which stretches for miles and is beautiful and the water is clear and shallow, or the smaller Porto Pinetto which is better for swimming off rocks, chasing fish etc.

There are a few places of interest within driving (or cycling!) distance of here but overall the surrounding area is quite underdeveloped in terms of tourism, but the natural beauty of the Costa del Sud is impressive.

Overall, a good place to stay if you want a quiet relaxing holiday in a beautiful (but not bustling) setting.
