A beautiful spot away from any large city. Free transport around the resort and a ferry to a beautiful private beach. The beach was magnificent. Shops and restaurants close by and a friendly taxi driver who charged below hotel prices to take us to the attractions outside of the resort. Good memories. No flat screen tvs old crt useless for modern multimedia.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite so it was very spacious and incredibly good value for the money. The view was of the golf course so it was very quiet. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. The free shuttle around the Laguna resort made visiting our friends at the other hotels with the the Laguan Resort very convenient but there is a charge to use the other hotel's pool even though they are part of the same resort. Our own pool was a little smaller than we expected but it did have a slide which was fun. You could walk to the beach but the bus would save you arriving soaked! We thought the main downside was that resort was far from Patong, the port and the south of the island where the nicer beaches are. If you plan to stay in the resort then this would be a good choice. However if you intend to explore further afield be warned that the resort taxis are slightly more expensive than what you would pay outside but the cars are definitely more comfortable.

I've never felt more at home at any other resorts than this one. Who wouldn't? This place is very much like a 2 room apartment with a fully equipped kitchen where I can whip up any meals for my family. The unit is really spacious so kids have plenty of space to run around so you don't hear any complaints of boredom from being confined to a small hotel room. There are 3 TV's so noboby has to fight over any channel and also a DVD player. If that is not enough to keep the kids entertained there's also a kid's club on the ground floor even though my kids found it very basic compared to what they had in Angsana, but, suffice to say. Since it feels very much like home, we didn't feel like missing anything so much when we went out for our day trips. Location wise it is quite far from Phuket's main attraction, especially Patong, so I would recommend renting a car and a GPS if you plan to stay here

The Hotel is nice but they don't have there own beach. However, it's in the "Laguna Resort Area". So you don't have to think much about going out to other places but enjoy the facilities of the other hotel members. Anyways, there own facilities are also not bad. The swimming pool is not big but you can enjoy the spiral slider with you kids.

Remember, don't compare with other five star resort. It's reasonable for what you spend.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the forest side but higher floor is better

We stayed for a week before Easter in March 2013. Before the trip I was wondering why most of the reviews posted here seem to be 4 or 5 star range and now I know. Everything is basic and they tick most of the boxes. But it is not luxurious. Don't get me wrong, things are always clean, staff are friendly, breakfast has good options, etc. But you just feel that the management decided that "hey we can't make it too good, otherwise it would compete with our other 5 star hotels on the property" - like Angsana, Banyan Tree, Outrigger Beach, etc. For example, the rooms are large, but spartan. Breakfast selection is good, but the quality is lacking. The pool is nice but small. Staff are polite but not enthusiastic. So while clearly this is not a 5 star properly, ranking it at 3 star would be a disservice - a generous 4 star is where it belongs.

Please note that Laguna's shuttle buses are very efficient in taking you to other Laguna properties. However for a long stay this is extremely tedious. We rented a car and explored the island which we thought was a lot more fun. Plus what you spend on the car you save by eating at normal restaurants rather than in Laguna, where its all 5 star hotels. FWIW we actually found the food much better off site than on, but YMMV.

Golfers - you are 2 mins by shuttle from the Golf club. That is by far the most attractive aspect of this property for us.

Room Tip: Thank you for all the posters before me who advised a room close to reception - this is absolutely crucial. I would also advise a room that is not on the ground floor, as the foot traffic is heavy and the noise from the corridor echoes easily into the rooms. This is especially the case in the mornings during housekeeping hours, when the staff are all talking at each very loud and I had to politely ask them to tone it down as my baby was sleeping. A further hint to guests who are renting cars - the car park is also a trek from reception, so get a room between reception and the car park. Otherwise you will waste a lot of time to-ing and fro-ing. Whatever you do, do not ask for a quiet room at the end. You will have a long long walk to breakfast / reception / shuttle buses every time you decide to leave your room.
