After Diamond has changed the chef and the food improve so much. We enjoy our visit there everytimes. Their service is excellent indeed.

A bit more upmarket than most of the other restaurants on the Surin Beach front and whilst also a bit more expensive, we considered it worth the extra baht. Great set up with couches at tables facing out to the ocean for uninterrupted ocean views whilst dining. We just caught the last light of the day and regretted not arriving earlier to catch the sunset. Service was excellent and lighting and background music complemented the ocean views beautifully. The meals were good with the only blemish being a fairly ordinary panna cotta for dessert.

After four or five rainy days, the sun came out and we decided to explore Surin Beach. We wandered right down to the end of the road and we walked out onto the deck at Diamond Beach Club. Chatted to one of the waitresses and ended up sitting on one of the very comfy lounges watching the waves and drinking cocktails. The service was very attentive and polite. I had a lychee martini, decorated with a rose petal and a raspberry coco martini, both very nice. Lovely way to spend a couple of hours. The rain came just as our driver turned up so we were happy.

There is clearly a coordinated effort to appeal to style minded clients, but the quality (and quantity) of the food let it down so much that I could not recommend this establishment, especially with so many other great places so nearby. It is probably no accident that 'Catch' was buzzing while this place had just 3 couples.

We were asked to order quick as happy hour was 3 minutes from finishing so we ordered 2 cocktails. It made no difference to the bill and no discount was given so I am puzzled why they bothered with the urgency.

The food (a pizza dish and a pasta dish) were very sub standard. The four cheese pizza was very thin and dripping in a little too much cheese making the base softer than it should be and challenging to eat.
The pasta (chilli and garlic) was the size I would expect a starter to arrive. Huge whole garlic pieces (I would have preferred chopped or better still crispy flakes of garlic) meant that I ended up avoiding eating the garlic with the pasta as it was too strong.

We left still hungry which is never a good sign, and given the lack of attention to the amount, and quality of the whole dish, we were not about to order more from here.

The only saving grace is the pleasant atmosphere with delightful and attentive staff.

My advice, enjoy the music and have a small drink but eat elsewhere.

With my wife and son (4) we had a great diner while watching the sunset and enjoying the music. Good price, good quality food and drinks (had a very nice cocktail) and friendly service. We first tried Catch, but they only had an expensive buffet night (1300 bath per person), while here we could order (next to european food) thai food.
