“Excellent on both occasions”
Reviewed December 8, 2012

We had dinner twice during our 12 night stay at the Dusit Thani. fantastic setting on the water, friendly service, quick, and two tasty Thai meals. On both occasions we spent around 600 Baht pp for a starter, mains and drinks. £12 Per person, great value and would happily recommend and come again.

“Food ok service poor”
Reviewed November 5, 2011

We went there to eat on our first night we arrived we have been going to eat there for a few years now. We were excited to take our friends there as we had told them how good it was and we were renewing our wedding vows for our 25th wedding anniversary and would have liked to have a meal there on that evening. The night started well we ordered drinks and food only to be waiting a long time for all the drinks to arrive after having to remind them this happened nearly all night. When the food arrived a meal arrived which we had not ordered the waitress was quite rude and left meal there saying we had ordered it and not even wanting to now what we had ordered. The restaurant was not even busy so you would think they would want the business from the 10 of us . We were a bit embarrassed after telling our friend how good it was only to be treated this way but it's there loss as we didn't go there again

“A great place in a beautiful setting....”
Reviewed October 22, 2011

Built on stilts and situated right on the beach about ten minutes walk down the sand southwards from the Dusit Thani Hotel or about 30 minutes walk up the sand Northwards from the Best Western Bangtao Beach. At high tide the sea breaks right under it and you can watch the water between the floorboards beneath the outermost tables.
Owned, staffed and run by a charming local Thai family. The food is freshly prepared, delicious and very reasonably priced. Satay is about 120TBt (400 at the Dusit Thani). The dishes are all fairly familiar to Thai food lovers Green and red curries, rice and noodle dishes and soups based on Chicken, Pork, Beef and Seafoods. The whitefish and lobster are sold live (How fresh can you get!) by weight and you can choose them from tanks yourself (A popular customer photo opportunity!) or leave it to the staff. Large Crevette - sized King prawns fresh daily are sold by weight chilled. The grilled fillets and deep fried fish on the bone is excellent. We only had room for sweet once and the deep fried banana or coconut ice cream is excellent. There is a full bar selling alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks.
The views from the outer tables are stunning so go a little early and watch the sunset. We ended up going regularly and were never disappointed.
