Overall a very nice hotel. Extremely clean. They have 2 pools which are fantastic for a morning swim. Just outside on the main road are a few nice cafes and bars. Cross that main road and 5 mins ahead will lead you to Surin beach. Very beautiful beach with large waves.

However, the hotel has no elevators. So beware if you have lots of luggages. Of course the porter would help you, but he has only so many hands. Another bad thing was the painting in the room. Mine had a bloodied red woman with a spider on the face. Very intimidating at night especially it can be seen behind you on the mirror when you brush your teeth.

Room tip: Please change the picture to something more pleasant.

Dear Guest,
Thank you for taking a moment to write us a review here on Tripadvisor. It was our pleasure having you and your family here but we are saddened that it has not been an enjoyable as we want your holiday to be. Please accept our sincere apology regarding that painting. We had immediately moved it out of the room as per your kind instruction. We really appreciate your feedback as it is the only way to identify certain areas with concern. All in all, thank you and we hope to have another opportunity to be of service to you here again. In the meantime, me and my team are sending you well wishes.
Kind regards,
Surintra Resort Team

Surintra is a large hotel within walking distance to the beach in Surin. We traveled in May and there weren't many guests at all.
Pros: 2 gorgeous pools (one shallow and a deeper one). Never found ourselves sharing in the time we were there.
Lovely bathroom and room, polite and helpful staff. The guys on the front desk had a good grasp of English and were able to answer questions about posting cards, where to buy things.

Cons: bathroom was a bit dark in terms of lighting. The air conditioning struggled some days (individual unit was quite outdated). The construction going on next door until midnight made it almost unbearable. On this basis we moved.

A real shame as otherwise it was very peaceful and in no way the fault of the hotel.

Please accept our sincere apology regarding the lighting and air-con. However, we are very impressive of your kind understanding about construction next door. We will bring up these issues to the Management to consider. We really appreciate your feedback as it is the only way to identify certain areas with concern. We stayed at Surintra for two weeks, the hotel room we had was cleaned every day and bedding changed. The room was very basic with a balcony that looked out over a building plot, the bathroom had a basin a shower and a toilet, there are pebbles set into the concrete floor which are painful to stand on. There are open drains all around the area which were often very smelly which I assume will only get worse as there are huge building projects in progress close by. The staff really make this hotel tolerable as they are always happy and smiling.
The beach is about four or five minutes walk and is beautiful, the sea is warm clean and clear. There used to be restaurants all along the beach road, however the military have demolished them all, but there are ample street food shacks in place.
There are a fair choice of restaurants and two small supermarkets within walking distance.
Personally I would not stay here again after this experience.
It would suit anyone who requires a cheap hotel which is near a lovely beach but with no frills.

Arriving at Surintra straight after an overnight train & flight, we couldn't have been happier for good bed. The hotel definitely didn't disappoint and we were so thankful for an upgraded room, I was really surprised at how nice it actually was! The bathroom was decorated really well, room was lovely and spacious and bed was comfy.

The staff carried our (heavy - sorry!) suitcases up all the steps for us and were always available if we needed them.

The pools looked nice & the spa looked good but we ran out of time to use both, we spent most of our time at the beach!

After travelling around the Thai islands for a couple of weeks now, I think Surin is up there as one of my favourite beaches! The water was lovely, scenery was beautiful and I miss the little beds and pillows they have out there for you to rent... so worth it!

We were only there 3 nights and there wasn't a huge amount of restaurants etc around, we ate in Surin Chill House each night which was good.

Would definitely recommend!

This is a lovely hotel just set back off the road a minutes walk from the beach.
The rooms are really well designed, spacious and cleaned really well. Bathrooms are amazing and beds really comfortable.
The reason for giving this hotel three stars is for the following reasons:
1. Two pools but the sun loungers are mostly those mounded types that you can't lay fully down on - there are also not as many sun loungers for rooms - however the beach is very close
2. There's a bad smell of drains
3. Lots of flies - could be from the above
4. The breakfast varied day by day in offerings - like they've run out of fruit
5. View next door is of a crane and a building site that doesn't look like anything is happening
However it's in a nice quiet part of Phuket so if you're here just to sleep then it's fine.
