Our family stay at Renaissance Phuket ,not far from the airport. Natural quiet Resort have
beautiful large room for 2 adults and 2 chils, luxury bathrooms. Balcony for a relaxing. Beach can not swim away because of the basin rim. We enjoy with the salt water pool close the beach. Dining room decorated with a variety of delicious ice cream flavors to choose diversity. Friendly staff and very good advice. Price is excellent value for what you get.

We recently stayed at the Renaissance for 12 days.

The hotel, some 2+ years old, has been built in a National Park. It has been developed well in natural colours and blends in harmoniously with the environment. The birds and other fauna flourish in the hotel setting.

The most impressive feature of our stay was the first class service of all staff. They quickly learnt our names, addressed us kindly, and provided unrelenting personal, efficient and courteous service. This surpassed any experience we have had in our past travels. They took an interest in all guests including the ability to give welcome greetings in multiple languages, and they had a great manner with small children. We don’t like to mention names but we got to know a number quite well including: Amm, Nancy, Jenny, Tiny, Tucky, Mee, Lisa, Ohm, Chappy, Dee, Voom, Boom Boom and Goong. We will miss their smiles and friendship.

Our pair of room cleaners were a jovial delight and we were very grateful to received small flower arrangements and figurines made from small hand towels – very clever and thoughtful.

We booked an ocean front Pool Villa (no 11) which was a great decision. We had wonderful views of the ocean and only some 60 steps to the beach (which is approx 17km in length). During our stay the ocean conditions were relatively calm for enjoyable swimming. We also has the luxury of using our villa plunge pool. As it was in shade it meant we could get immediate cooling from the warm conditions. It was a great setting for a very relaxing holiday. We also regularly used the well appointed hotel gym.

The hotel is quite isolated but that suited us perfectly: it is close to the airport but far from the ‘madding crowds”. On one day we rented a local taxi (1600B each way) to visit Phuket Town and Patong. Each were interesting but we were glad to get back to the ‘idyllic’ Renaissance setting.

For all meals we used the hotel restaurants: Takieng (Thai), Sandbox (Seafood), and Loca Lure (Coffee shop). We had great food and excellent service, all in attractive outdoor settings. They are probably higher priced than other local restaurants. As written by many others the buffet breakfast was outstanding in terms of variety, choice, and quality. Well done to all the chefs in the hotel.

We thoroughly recommend this hotel to all.

Room Tip: go for an ocean front Pool Villa.

I must first admit that I'm writing this review a few months late; however, that does not detract from my memories of this wonderful resort. My beautiful wife and I chose the Renaissance Phuket to spend our honeymoon this past October and we could not have been happier. Despite it being technically the rainy season, we only had one day of rain, and that was fleeting.

As others have mentioned, this resort is quite a bit north of the action of downtown Phuket, so if you're looking for nightlife and such, this is probably not the place to be. If, however, you're looking to unwind and with your love...this is a great choice.

The beach is...unbelievable. I suggest walking down at sunrise and marveling at the fact that you are the ONLY living soul for miles in any direction along the beach. Consider the beach yours and bask in the warm, inviting Andaman Sea.

Service at this hotel is impeccable. The Thai people are naturally friendly and welcoming to foreigners, but this hotel takes that to another level. From the moment you arrive until you (sadly) depart, you will know that you're enjoyment is of primacy to this resort.

As to the rooms: we stayed in a villa, which was absolutely wonderful. We had our own private and secluded dunk pool with its own deck and chairs, which was a nice perk. Nevertheless, we did spend quite a bit of time by the lovely pool enjoying the ocean breeze.

Dining options within the resort are outstanding, if a bit expensive, though to be fair that is relative to the rest of the island, which is VERY inexpensive. A tip: as you drive up to the resort, you will see some very small and meager looking shanty restaurants. Do yourself a favor and eat at them. Wonderful, fresh (and cheap) Thai cuisine can be had there.

We also visited the spa at the resort and had a Thai massage together. I've had massages at other resorts, but a Thai massage is a bit different. The emphasis is placed on stretching and bending and not so much on direct muscle massage. Definitely a bit different but, very nice and relaxing nonetheless.

Some additional tips:

Definitely go to the Phuket market! So much to see and taste! We ate very well and got a bit tipsy for maybe $20 USD total and had a lot of fun!

Take a bike tour if you can. We did one with Amazing Bike Tours and it was really great! We were completely worn by the end of the day, but a few Chang beers later and we were all set!

Finally, if you're planning on doing any scuba diving in Phuket (and I HIGHLY recommend that you do), do yourself another favor and go with Sharkey Scuba out of Karon Beach (see their Trip Advisor rating). Iain and Oui are extraordinarily friendly and professional divers that emphasize safety and fun. We will definitely be going back for this reason alone. One really could not ask for a better dive outfit.

Room Tip: Get a villa if you can afford it. Well worth the extra expense.

Brought the family to Phuket in August 2012 and stayed at Renaissance Phuket Resort and Spa for 3 days 3 nights. This is one of the most wonderful hotel stays i have experienced in my life.

Once arriving at the hotel, we were told to hand over our passports so they can start to process our stay. We were then told to sit on the couches while we slurped on our delicious welcome drinks. Once they were ready, we were given a brief tour of the resort on the map provided and then whisked off to our hotel room in the buggy. Our son loved the buggy ride.

Our room was overlooking the breakfast restaurant overlooking the lake and also the kids pool.(which is one pool by itself. There is another adult pool which was nice with a spa in the middle.) We had lunch at the sandbox restaurant which had a nice cool concept where the floor of the restaurant is actually sand. The breakfast was fantastic and they even made eggs benedict and lattes for us. Which is very different to the drip coffees and fried, scrambled and omelette eggs served at many other hotels. They even served ice-cream for breakfast, yummy!

The room was fantastic, toliet and room were both huge and had enough room for the 2 kids to run around. The service was exceptional, staff waited on us and went above and beyond to satisfy our stay. There was a little shop selling basic needs and also a cafe to provide coffees, cakes and sandwiches.

At the end of our stay, our flight was meant to be 6-7 am in the morning, the hotel staff even packed breakfast so we can have something to eat at the airport, which really left an impression on me. 6 stars! A hotel i will never forget!

Marriott quality hotel in the middle of the jungle, with good beach. It seems that the traditional overwhelming Thai service attitude is no longer there with all employees, but anyway we had a great stay at this stylish hotel. Phuket generally is a little overpriced, but if you accept that, it a good place to spend time.......

We were soooo satisfy with the honeymoon package.

The package include 2 spa for 2 persons, 1 dinner for 2 persons.
Soooo worthed!
The spas were wonderful... It's so relaxing, with tea and green macaroons with choco filling at the end of every spa sessions. Yummyyy.... The best macaroons i ever tasted... That's why i remember it :)

The hotel is so contemporary but stylish at the same time. The room looked like it's brand new. When we 1st arrived, they gave us a bottle of red wine at our room. What a nice touch for us to unwind after 3 hours flight.
Then we ordered room service; the pad thai was so yummy with fresh prawn... The renaissance pizza was also nice, and also the prawn spaghetti we ordered the next day. The food price was reasonable, not as expensive as we thought a meal in a hotel would be.

Then we had the dinner (included in the package). It was sooo yummy... Every dishes were superb, one of the best thai food we ever tasted. The staffs were so attentive and super friendly. The dessert was sticky rice with coconut ice cream and mango. It was to die for... Literally ;) we came back for it the next day....

The breakfast were so suprising! We read in the tripadvisor review, that the breakfast were awesome. But we didnt think that it would be that nice...
There is juice and smoothie section. Where you can request for watermelon smoothie, or even mixed juice of carrot beetroot and apple.
They have ice cream section with like 10 types of ice creams. Selection of waffle, pancake, crepe and french toast every single day. And butterscoth sauce with slices of young bananas as the topping which is very yummy and addictive...
We were there for 5 days, and every day, there was something different from the day before. One day there was pineapple, sweet potato fritters, the other day egg benedict, the next day thai noddle soup... So we didnt get bored at all..

The beach, OMG, the waves were hard, but it's so much fun! The water was milky warm...
The hotel provided lots of loungers near the beach... And it was so relaxing just sitting on the lounger, enjoying the beach view...

The hotel also provided bycicles, free of charge for every guests. We enjoyed riding bycicle on the street, along the mangrove near the hotel...

The location of the hotel is a bit secluded. So the beach was practically like a private beach, with only few hotel's guest enjoying it.
But if you want to go out, looking for restaurants, the only way you can go is by taxi, and they can be quite pricey... So there's the down side. But the rest, there were perfect.

Stayed here for a romantic get away and wasn't disapointed. Stayed in a King Villa and it was probably the nicest place I've ever stayed. Service was great. Restaurants were great too... Not really near any night life but didn't really need anymore or that. ;) Hightly recommend staying here.... Even in the off season.

Room Tip: Get a villa. It's a little costly (I used points + cash). But it's worth it.
