“Good service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

We placed our order for delivery. The came by bike and arrived earlier than schedule at the last gate of Marriott to meet us. Food still warm so we don't need to reheat them. Health Club at Marriott told me the chef used to work at Marriott so we're happy of what we choose.

Their signature fish cake is softer than what we have before. Morning glory is bit old. Good pineapple fried rice and yellow curry with pumkin. Tom Yum Kung soup is tasty and not creamy. Overall is good and cheaper than the price at the hotel.

“Truly outstanding. Worth the visit, definitely.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 28, 2013

When I say worth the visit, I mean worth dragging your backside 15 hours across the world in a 747 to visit.

I know. You think I'm exaggerating. You're mistaken. Kin Dee is, without any shadow of a doubt, one of the finest restaurants I have visited anywhere in the world. And I've been to a lot of places. The chef used to work in some of Thailand's finest restaurants before setting up on his own, and it shows. The menu isn't incredibly broad, but it doesn't need to be. Because everything on it, as far as I can tell, is delicious.

They offer three choices in spiciness - mild, average, hot and Thai. Thai is a gamble - a massaman curry is very mild indeed, while Tom Yum Guam (sorry if I've spelled it wrong) will blow your socks off.

Service is perfect - friendly, attentive but at the same time discreet.

I'm not kidding. I would cheerfully eat there every night. And it's dead cheap, too. What's not to love?

“A special gem, and very very local”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

This restuarant reminded me of eating in a local crab shack in Deal Island, Maryland. Delicious, hearty, great value, and a versatile chef who can make "off-menu" items like Mee Krob.

It is an outdoor setting down a dusty road. Once inside the seats a comfortable and everything is nice and clean. You have a view of the real nature of Phuket and all that comes with it.

“Probably the best restaurant in the area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2013 via mobile

We ordered their tempura prawn, thai style calamari, crab fried rice, seafood phad thai, ship wreck soup and phuket jungle veg. Dessert was the mango sticky rice. The soup was really good with a tangy flavour. The portions for the calamari and tempura prawn was meagre for the smallest order. Calamari was slightly salty. The phad thai and crab fried rice was quite well done and savoury. I would recommend that you skip the mango sticky rice asyit was over priced and nothing to shout about. Overall a pleasant dining experience. I would recommend making a reservation as the dining hall has limited seating.
