Our visit to The Marriott Mai Khao was a highlight to a three week timeshare visit on Phuket.
Prior to our visit we contacted the resort and requested a top floor location for optimum views. Upon check-in our request was granted. The unit was exceptional, very large rooms with tasteful furnishings and colors. The kitchen was fully stocked for all of our meal preparations. We are seniors and prefer to do most of our cooking in the condos.
One evening we ordered room service for dinner from the on-site restaurant. Service entered the room with a nice portable oven and set our table for an excellent dinner. We made a stop at the local Tesco grocery store on our trip north to the resort, and stocked up on supplies for the week ahead.
The resort is not directly on the beach, and sits north of the JW Marriott, while the Marriott Phuket Beach Club sits to the south of the JW. The view from our very large patio was over the Anantara Villas to the Andaman Sea in the near distance. A walk way near the Turtle Village provides access to the beach area. Guests from all three resorts share the water activity desk, beach front at the JW Marriott. Numerour water toys are available, hobie cat, kayaks, boards, etc. There is also a very small Thai Village of sorts located in front of The Beach Club with $10.00 massages and a food stand.
The Resort has one large pool with a nice amount of chaises for sun enjoyment. Many water features flora and fauna. The poolside bar area was a popular place during happy hours. Many activities were available for all age groups.
Staff throughout the Resort were professional, courteous with always a friendly "hello and how are you today" greeting.
The Turtle Village Shopping area located next to the Resort was a pleasant place to pickup some last minute gifts before heading home. There is a small market place "Turtle Mart" located downstairs from the street level. They always featured fresh fruit packages and meats with packaged liquor items, and the essential items for preparing a meal in the condo. Prices weren't cheap but when you are the only game in town, this is the way it shall be. Two restaurants, Bill Bentley Pub and the very popular Coffee Club. The latter featured great choices and the prices were not out of line.
At last the most enjoyment was the twice daily visit to the Resort by our two year old baby elephant. Old and young alike would grab their cameras and run to her side. She would pose for pictures, play with you, and high five with her trunk. Visit the pool edge and spray the children with the water from her trunk. On our last couple of hours at the Resort she arrived and we went to say "good bye", I took her little stiff hair on top of her head and placed a purple silk flower. She wrapped her trunk around my nect and gave me a great big kiss on the mouth. Wow, I've been kissed by an elephant, what more would you expect from gifting.

Room Tip: Enjoyed the top floor.

One week in georgious hotel gave us a lot of chillout. We were with kids there, but perfect prepared activities and pool was enough to keep them busy. The empty beaches with warm water were so nice, that it was pity leaving it after such a nice time.

Room Tip: try a local restaurant behind the rare service gate

My wife and I brought my parents to this property for the Chinese new year holidays. As we heard that almost 100 thousand Chinese people spent their holidays in Thailand, we did not feel any of such crowding during our stay.

The staff were really nice and helpful. The rooms were clean and very spacious. We live in Hong Kong if you must know lol. Although this property is not ajacent to the beach, it has a shuttle bus running to the JW Marriot which is right at the beach. As a guest at this property, you can pretty much use anything that JW has. The distance between these two properties is so short you just need a five minutes walk from one to the other. We sincerely do NOT recommand you doing that as the sun may do some damage to you. The beach is most stunning one we have seen, better than any beaches we have been to. The waves are not big at all if you bring someone who keeps safety as their first priority. This said, it is not as good for challenge seekers. Kayaking and many other water activities are free of charge at the beach, which is another big bonus.

For dining, the two restraunts at Mai Khao Beach property share the same set of menus, which means you can order the other one's food in either restraunt. The dishes are fine and affordable. If you want more variety, you can certainly take the suttle and go to JW.

Both JW and Mai Khao Beach properties have very nice pool areas. They even bring a young elephant for petting twice a day.

After so many nice words, I do want to remind you that if you request taxi services for air-port pick up, their hotel taxi is very expensive. I think you can actually call and have the hotel reserve a local taxi pick-up. This will save you half of the fare the hotel taxi charges.

Despite of the taxi fare, the journey was perfect. We are definitely going back.

We stayed at the Marriott Mai Khao Beach for the first time on a friend's recommendation. We were very satisfied with the accommodation and were given a downstairs villa with the plunge pool, which was ideal for us to dip the babies into the pool.
The villas themselves were very well equipped and well maintained. Staff throughout the stay were very pleasant.

The only negative point I'd say is that it's a shame it's not a little closer to the Beach than we had expected. The beach is a 10 minute walk, near the Anantara Resort and JW Marriott. Nevertheless it's a pleasant walk and the beach itself is very nice indeed, and also very secluded.

The resort facilities were very good especially with the nearby mini mart.

Recently stayed at this property as part of a group of 4 adults and a young child. Our apartment was good sized with 2 double bedrooms kitchen, dining and seating area. The master bedroom was big as was the bathroom, however the second bedroom was a little small. perhaps a future design could lose a little bit from the master and add to the second bedroom!
The room was well provided with eating utensils and there was a washing machine and dryer in a hall cupboard. The beach is about 550 yards away but transport is provided for those with walking problems. The pool is a fair size with plenty of loungers. We found the staff with whom we came in contact both competent and friendly. There is a club for children which was well run. The property is a bit isolated but a new mini mall has opened next door

Room Tip: A view over the pool is best and noise is no problem
