“Simply stunning and disappointing at the same time!”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

The cave is surprisingly enormous and the wow factor is certainly there when you first walk in. The outside (limited car parking, tiny cafe and basic toilets) simply does not prepare you for what you see after entering. The guide was good and the price is good too so first impressions are great. It gets a bit disappointing when descending the steps as the steps are crude, not well lit and the cave is one single "room" so the value of going down the steps (apart from trying to provide value for the entrance fee) isn't very apparent. The temperature in the cave is a welcome break from the heat outside though and you don't need a jacket.

Also, a cameraman took a photo of everyone entering and he got a bit upset when we were not interested in buying his photo when we were leaving.

“Good caves, but could be presented better”
Reviewed August 21, 2012

We like exploring caves, so we've seen a few. Cuevas del Canelobre is a pretty spectacular cave, but the complex is a little under-invested. Rather rickety stairs, and limited catering on site. The guide was a nice chap, but didn't speak very loudly bearing in mind the party was about 40 people. Reasonable cost, though, at only 6 Euros. Watch out for the car park - if it's full there's nowhere to turn around and you have to reverse all the way out, which can be tricky if you're driving an unfamiliar rental car.

“Unexpected Magnificence”
Reviewed April 17, 2012

In the middle of nowhere, literally, you will find some remains of a huge cave which was used by our ancestors. Hard to find your way up there, but worth the detour.

“Enormous Single Cave -Well lit and organised”
Reviewed January 23, 2012

A great experience but a little bit staged. This is not a cave visit to experience bat attacks or the nature of say cuevas del Guacharo but isan impressive natural phenomena modified in no small art by man with artificial lighting accentuating natural features. The dimension of te single cavern are impressive with stalagmites and tites impressive but nothing special if you've seen other formations. No photography inside which is a shame even without flash. For the cost I'd recommend it and the views from up there are superb.
