Peaceful cottage which was well maintained. There was plenty of space for us including a dog. The place was well equipped with appliances and wifi. The wood burning fire was great!
The only down side was the road leading to the cottage- very bumpy- not suitable for some cars and those who get travel sick. Otherwise we had a great stay and would love to go back in the summer time to explore surrounding area as too cold and wet to do so in the winter.

We had a great time, bit of a bumpy ride on the road up to the cottage, but it was worth it. Fascinating old cottage, where a friendly welcome awaited us with cake, wine and lovely fresh eggs.
The animals are really tame, such a peaceful place to stay and the cottage was very well equipped. We will go back to stay again.
A lovely well appointed cottage. The garden was pleasant and spacious with a nice BBQ which we cooked some freshly caught trout on.
The Kitchen was perfect for a small family and the hosts very kindly had a cake waiting for us upon arrival.
A great experience. Although a bit of fun trying to find it as we were arriving quite late. But some friendly neighbours pointed us in the right direction.
Definitely a repeat visit for us.

Was up in Barnstaple on business and needed a location close to the town but away from the usual tourist areas. The Courtyard cottage was ideal. Very old building but warm and modern where it needed to be. We were given a very nice welcome with a bottle of wine and home-baked cake (wonderful). Very clean (and we check!).Great fireplace with wood-burning stove which we needed at night even in May.
Make sure you visit the sheep and take some 'sheep food' which the owners provide. Great fun.

We stayed at Courtyard Cottage at very short notice to be nearby friends in Barnstaple and couldn’t have chosen a better home for the week. It really is home from home only with better views of rolling hills. Clare and Laurence could not have been any more welcoming and helpful.
Our 1 and 3 yr olds loved the run of the house, courtyard, gardens and were especially excited when it came to feeding the sheep and chickens. Our stay was late January when the snow came and our kids had great fun sledging down the field with Clare and Lawrence’s boys next door.
The cottage is absolutely ideal for a family of four. Well equipped, clean and has a lovely country farm feel about it. It is well situated for all that north Devon has to offer, beautiful beaches close-by and Barnstaple very much on the doorstep for supplies. Yet the cottage is nicely removed from town, remote and very peaceful. Access is up a private lane, but Sat-Nav found us to the door without any problems and the snow made no difference to our plans that week, including heading round to the pool facilities available at a neighbouring farm. Kids loved it – lovely clean and private heated pool – perfect for rainy days. And the log fire is a belter. Warms the cottage to cosy farmhouse in no time at all. We will be recommending this cottage to friends for sure. It is a real find and absolutely ideal if you are planning a North Devon getaway. Look no further !
