The only problem with Etnaland is getting there. Public transport is not an option. Car hire is the only option. Coming from Syracuse direction, you must leave the motorway at the Misterbianco junction and head for Paterno. That bit is OK. But at Paterno is where the nightmare begins. The satnav either cannot cope or copes too late with the instructions you need. There is a left turn that you need to take as soon as you take the off-ramp for Paterno. If (when) you pass a tiny brown sign for Etnaland, then you're in for an interesting tour of the hilly town of Paterno. The signage for Etnaland is a joke. But when you get there, it's all worth it.
