A devine trek, that is the only few words I can use for this place. About 35 Kms from Mussoorie on the way to Chamba lies the village of Kaddukhal. From the base the Mandir is 1.5 Km trek through some breathtaking view and pristine forest.
The temple is being reconstructed by the Mandi commitee. Devi mata is presently kept in a separate building as the construction is going on. The complete construction is funded by the money of the people visiting the temple, no fund, grant etc.
People visiting Mussoorie must surely make some time to visit this place. The devine feeling experienced can be equally compared to the visit to Jai Mata di.

It was a great experience for me& my friends trekking in the morning hours. Some people took long tme to reach there but I suggest don't go with kids, heavy bags unless you really needed. bring water bottle and snaks if you want to trekk. Coming to the temple very great history narrated by a pandit, when visited main temple is under renovation, Now the temple lost original shape but powerful goddess.

The hike is more interesting than the temple itself. Must do for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts.

The temple is about 8 km (15 min drive) from Club Mahindra Kanatal. The climb to the temple is good 1-1.5 hrs. Amazing snow peak views from the top.

Surkanda Devi temple is considered as one of the shakti peeths & is located at a height of 9500 ft, 8 kms from Dhanaulti. The devi temple is located on the top of the peak & can be reached after a trek of 1 & 1/2 kms. The view from the top is breath-taking with snow clad Gangotri & Yamunotri peaks visible on one side & Shivalik range on the other.
