A phantastic cenote (jungle lake) a few minutes from Chichen Itza (follow the national route in the direction of Merida) in a charming, Mayan village of Yokdzonot. The place is taken care of by a local organisation (mainly women) who after a year and a half of hard work created a a beautiful enironment around the cenote. There is a restaurant serving delicious meals, rapel, bikes to rent, camping place with a possibility to rent tents. The water in the cenote is clean and lovely, the place supports a great variety of flora an fauna. My favourite thing was to place mysefl on the back in the middle of cenote and watch the clouds, butterflies and birds fly by. Unforgettable! The entrance including the obligatory life-jacket is only 30 pesos. The place is run by local peaople and all the money goes to them. Higly recommended!
