I'll start with the good points. Firstly, the Food was good, not Mind blowing, but good. There was a good choice even though it may be a little basic. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy and the maids come in every day with fresh towels etc.(pretty sculptures shaped out of towels left on the bed are a nice touch) The people there are very friendly, especially Ayhan the Spa Rep on site. He is the nicest person we have met on any holiday!!!! Lovely clean pool and plenty of sunbeds. The on site shop is very cheap and open early 'til late and the lady running it is lovely. Now for the not so good points. If you like evening entertainment around the pool, forget it. Apart from some Turkish dancers one night and a Fire eating show that lasted 10 minutes, entertainment is Crap!!!!! During the day when your relaxing on your lilo, you will be shoved out of the way at least 3 times throughout the day for the so called entertainment team to play the guests at water polo which takes up most of the pool and consists of over competitive east Europeans throwing the ball too hard and usually smashing your drinks over while trying to top up your tan. The bar drinks around the pool are served in tiny plastic cups that they come round and collect then just rinse under a tap and re-use. Most of the cups we were given had either lipstick or smelt of something other than what you ordered. Be careful you don't get any cold sores. The bar staff are less than enthusiastic especially if you are asking for more than 1 drink. There are steep steps everywhere, if you need a wheelchair or you have 5 kids in buggy's, forget it! OH AND ROOMS NEAR RECEPTION ARE A NO NO UNLESS YOU ARE ONE OF THOSE THAT COMES IN AT 5AM YOURSELF! We were next to reception and all night we were woken by people drunk coming back, coaches picking up and dropping off guests. I hardly slept through any nights. Overall, we had a reasonable stay, but if you asked me would I go back......No, probably not!

Room Tip: Restaurant level rooms seem better

i was little concerned about coming this place because of the former comments about the hotel is not secure for families and women. but when i got here, it turned out my worries were all false. the place was quite funny and i saw nothing disturbing. administration was pretty caretaking and friendly. i had so much fun and happy that i chose this hotel. also the wiew was astounding. i could see the sea from my balcony. this holiday was better then i expected. thanks all the employees.

Room Tip: all rooms i saw had balconies and had the sunlight in them.

Please don not listne to the moaners on here, some people are never happy. I booked this hotel with my grilfirend and we were more than happy with our holiday. Yes if your elderly or disabled then id say dont book this as it does havce alot of steps. We requested a low floor on booking and we were placed on the 1st floor, so would reccomend doing this. If your fit and healthy , then the steps are not a problem.
We went all inclusive and the food was good. The usaul choices but always plenty to choose from. We defintley mad the most of the drinks at the bar. Food is quite cheap anyway and the area has some loverly restaurants if you fancied a change.
A 2minuted walk to shops, beaches and bars. Ideal location. Greta views across Marmaris from the bar , restaurnat and rooms.
Only a 30 minute walk along the beach front to either the centre of Marmaris or go the other way and it takes you to Icmeler which is a lovely walk. If you dont fancy the walk then there is a bus service which runs all day till 3am and you only have to wait 2 mins for, this cost 2lira which is about 50p.

Rooms all standard, good showers, clean towels and sheets daily and air con which is a god-send!!

Definitly would consider booking this hotel again, please dont listen to the haters, this hotel is perfect for the price you pay!

Room Tip: Request low floor

After flights being changed to horrendous times, we checked in at 4.30am and were told the hotel was fully booked and we were being moved to another hotel for 2 nights. We were only staying for a week so we lost our first day through flights and then a further 2! We went to halici hotel, which is a tiny hotel with hardly anyone staying (well, apart from the 20 or so other guests who had also been moved from the Semera as fully booked)! However we didnt let it spoil anything and tried to look on it as a plus as we saw two parts of the resort. We were moved 2 days later to the Semera but on arrival waited 3 hours for our room. To say things were getting past a joke at this point was an understatement!

On finally seeing our hotel we were all happy with what was on offer and for what we had paid it was really pretty good. Rooms were clean and food was fairly good, with plenty of times to eat. Pool was busy and not always easy to get sunbeds but as it was July this was only to be expected.

The transfer from the airport takes about 2 hours and the shuttle bus we booked, A2B transfers made a stop halfway at a service station, which was a bit of a pain inbound as it was early hours of the morning.

Overall the hotel was good and if not for the huge cock up on arrival we wouldnt have had anything to complain about. There were some good bars close by including Apple Bar and No Name Bar. on speaking to the owner of the Apple Bar he did say they very often overbook the semera and move people to the halici so be prepared would be our warning.

We stayed here from 7th May 2013 to 21st May 2013 (two weeks). This was only about 2 weeks after the hotel opened up for the season.
Having read the reviews we went with an open mind.

Steps: Yes there are steps and a rather large hill to climb but if you are willing to walk them everyday they aren't so bad. My boyfriend gave me a piggy back all they way up the hill and up the steps!! (good for his muscles). On a hot day it is rather hard.

Hotel: upon arriving (1:30am) the first room we were put in had no electric and we were moved to another room which we could change in the morning if we wanted. We changed rooms and the room we had was clean and spacious. There was a double bed and a single bed. My partner had the single bed as this wasn't like sleeping on a concrete floor!! The double bed was like sleeping on a concrete floor along with the pillows! I managed to get a blanket from the hotel and lay on top of that. Another problem our fridge didn't work nor did the TV. Pool area is clean, the whole hotel is clean however the food and drink choices were not. I am not normally fussy with food but here I was. Yes they had chips and rice and chicken etc but on the fish day I went hungry ( i don't eat fish). One very nice meal was the Kebab night!! The breakfast was basic and bland, i had omelette every morning pretty much and after two weeks there I got bored. The variety of pudding was awful, the same puddings every night and it was very poor apart from one night strawberries were available. Drinks Available were beer, coke, Fanta, sprite, vodka, rum and wine. If like us you do not drink them sort of alcoholic drinks its rubbish! no Malibu unless you pay 10 lira for it.

Staff: Cant speak a word of English!! And do not understand you especially on reception!

Area: Turkish people are very nice however they always bother you, I know they are after business but how many times in two weeks do you have to say no! I would recommend going to the blackpool bar on the beach front, they do a drag night and it is very good!! Also Apple bar at the bottom of the hill is good. We walked a number of times to Marmaris harbour down the beach front is a nice walk. There is a bus service to Marmaris harbour for 2 lire each and to Iclemer 2.50 lire each. Bars are entertaining at night and if you get chance to do a boat trip or days out its highly recommended. We also rented a quad for the day which was a great experience for £25.00.

The main thing is to haggle - you like something then haggle, if they don't go down then walk out they will soon accept your offer. Another thing - take English pound DO NOT change all your money you get better rate for English pound over there.

If you are into tattoo's go to Miss Nina on Bar street! Very Good!

Bar Street - if you have lots of money then go here. We went for one night and the drinks cost us 50 lira for two drinks which is over £18.00!!! and Watch out for the man with the little rabbits he wants 10 lira for his rabbits to pick a piece of paper with your fortune on.

Overall you get what you paid for. Would I go there again .. no.
