The hotel is fine for families. The family room is well thought out with the children's bunk beds separated from the main room and they have a log for the kids to stand on to reach the sink.
For the price the rooms feel a little functional but they do the job. The food in the evening buffet was fine as was the breakfast. The little problems we had such as a missing remote control and a lack of bathroom supplies were resolved quickly at reception.
The biggest problem we had was that the hotel is difficult to reach without a car. We arrived from CDG airport using the shuttle bus at around 1700. The bus driver didn't know anything about the hotel and as there were no signposts at the drop off point, we went to the theme park gates to ask directions. We naively hoped we would be allowed to take the `shortcut`through the park. We were refused entry and instructed to take what amounted to a 30 minute walk through car parks and along the grass verge of a road to the hotel.
The park itself is easily reachable by public transport so it seems strange that there is no facility to handle people arriving on the bus. I see people have mentioned a shuttle bus in previous reviews but when we arrived at reception and complained we were not given any satisfactory answer.
In summary, it is a good hotel if you keep in mind you are paying a slight 'theme park' premium and we all had a great time in the park itself. The ridiculous omission of any facility to handle people arriving by public transport is the reason for the poor rating.

As the biggest plus of this hotel we see the location; it is the closest hotel to park. They have their own pass to the park. I just didn't understand why it is not opened all the time - when we arrived on Friday afternoon, we had to wait 30 minutes to use it or had to walk 20 minutes to main park entrance.
The rooms has good sound isolation what I love.
What is weird - we were 4 people in room (2 kind, 2 adults) and there were only 2 bath towels in the bathroom. And the same on next day when towels changed. I went to front dest and got 2 more without problem, but thats really strange why they think that 4 people are fine with 2 towels...
Breakfast was ok.
Dinner buffet I think is overpriced, especially for children. We had it first night, but second didn't go there (our 4 years old definitely doesn't eat for EUR 11).
It was nice that hotel offered free ride to shuttle bus stop at the main part entrance of the day of our departure.

Kids bunk beds in an alcove off main bedroom, so everyone gets a bit of privacy. Buffet food is quite good, and had lots of options. There was an excellent kids entertainer in the bar each evening, and even though my kids have very little French, they really enjoyed it. Asterix and Obelix came to the hotel each morning, so we had lots of photo opportunities. Overall, the hotel is open, airy, the staff are very helpful. You can show your hotel card at the parc Asterix car park, and it saves the E8 fee.

Good value and I would stay there again.

Hotel 3stars in a quiet area in the forest can see squirrel, just one restaurant with buffet for dinner and one bar, a shop open from 7pm for asterix souvenir, we did have character on morning in reception area Asterix and Obelix, room was ok for a 3 stars can not say clean as looking under the bed I have found a sock and tooth pick, no coffe machine, no safety box, free wifi, tv, all is made in wood not so much to do in the hotel but stay is limited to 2 nights, shuttle is morning and return afternoon, better to take your car for last day as you have free car park normally cost 8 euros, breakfast and dinner need to be booked by specific slot, breakfast until 10am, and dinner start from 7pm, easy to find as parc asterix is a specific exit on motorway

Room Tip: All is in wood, room on ground floor with terraces or first level with balcony, may be noisy when kids upstairs run, my limitless one 4 years old sleep with the parents on main beds, did not use bunk beds

We stayed at this hotel for a week (it's a long story re. why it was such a lengthy stay - basically I'd say fine for a 1 - 2 night stay but clearly not the sort of hotel you'd voluntarily stay a whole week at). It has good and bad points.

GOOD POINTS: Fantastic setting in a wood, with rooms in smart wooden Chalet type accommodation. The rooms - albeit quite small for a family - are very clean and the shower was excellent. Beautiful architect designed building, very sympathetic to its woodland environment. Only a 10 minute walk from hotel to Park Asterix (or you can drive to park in 2 mins - parking is free for hotel residents). Lots of tables for sitting out at in the evening, you also have the option for dining outside which is nice given how hot it can get in August.

BAD POINTS: The restaurant is expensive - it is a fixed price and works out at around £60 for 3 (if your child 16+) and then drinks on top are very expensive so you end up spending a minimum of £70 for a below average meal. The dinner is "self service" -a buffet system where you help yourself to salad, cold meats and a choice of 3 x hot dishes. When busy, we found the restaurant staff didnt keep the hot dishes stocked up efficiently so you can be hanging around waiting for more food to come out which is very irritating. There was waitress service for drinks at our table but you could wait a long time before anyone took your order and, like another reviewer has commented, we found our waitress to be quite surly and prone to getting orders wrong. In fairness, I'd say over 95% of guests are french (Asterix not being as well known in the UK) so possibly the issue is that the staff dont normally need to speak English. Another downside is that the rooms are not air conditioned and it was very hot when we stayed so it was uncomfortably stuffy and airless at night. Each chalet room has a door which leads to a wooden verandah but we couldnt leave ours open as we were on the ground floor backing on to a wood and the security chain had been removed from the door so there was no means to securely keep it ajar. And yes, like a previous review, you get one wafer thin pillow per person!!

In summary, if you are visiting park asterix and can afford this hotel, I'd recommend it purely because of the convenience and - as a seasoned traveller to Disney Paris hotels - it compares favourably with its equivalents at Disney. But like any theme park hotel, it is not cheap and I'd personally avoid the restaurant for dinner. You dont have much option if you havent got a car but if, like us, you came via the euro tunnel so have your own transport, I'd recommend a 15 minute drive to Chantilly in the evening where eating out isn't cheap (though no more expensive than the Trois Hiboux) but it is a much nicer experience. Mind you - if you do go out for dinner... make sure you get back to the hotel by 11pm as the park gates get LOCKED at 11pm and there is some complicated "buzzer" system to re-gain access from that point!
