Hotel 3stars in a quiet area in the forest can see squirrel, just one restaurant with buffet for dinner and one bar, a shop open from 7pm for asterix souvenir, we did have character on morning in reception area Asterix and Obelix, room was ok for a 3 stars can not say clean as looking under the bed I have found a sock and tooth pick, no coffe machine, no safety box, free wifi, tv, all is made in wood not so much to do in the hotel but stay is limited to 2 nights, shuttle is morning and return afternoon, better to take your car for last day as you have free car park normally cost 8 euros, breakfast and dinner need to be booked by specific slot, breakfast until 10am, and dinner start from 7pm, easy to find as parc asterix is a specific exit on motorway

Room Tip: All is in wood, room on ground floor with terraces or first level with balcony, may be noisy when ki...

We stayed at this hotel for a week (it's a long story re. why it was such a lengthy stay - basically I'd say fine for a 1 - 2 night stay but clearly not the sort of hotel you'd voluntarily stay a whole week at). It has good and bad points.

GOOD POINTS: Fantastic setting in a wood, with rooms in smart wooden Chalet type accommodation. The rooms - albeit quite small for a family - are very clean and the shower was excellent. Beautiful architect designed building, very sympathetic to its woodland environment. Only a 10 minute walk from hotel to Park Asterix (or you can drive to park in 2 mins - parking is free for hotel residents). Lots of tables for sitting out at in the evening, you also have the option for dining outside which is nice given how hot it can get in August.

BAD POINTS: The restaurant is expensive - it is a fixed price and works out at around £60 for 3 (if your child 16+) and then drinks on top are very expensive so you end up spending a minimum of £70 for a below average meal. The dinner is "self service" -a buffet system where you help yourself to salad, cold meats and a choice of 3 x hot dishes. When busy, we found the restaurant staff didnt keep the hot dishes stocked up efficiently so you can be hanging around waiting for more food to come out which is very irritating. There was waitress service for drinks at our table but you could wait a long time before anyone took your order and, like another reviewer has commented, we found our waitress to be quite surly and prone to getting orders wrong. In fairness, I'd say over 95% of guests are french (Asterix not being as well known in the UK) so possibly the issue is that the staff dont normally need to speak English. Another downside is that the rooms are not air conditioned and it was very hot when we stayed so it was uncomfortably stuffy and airless at night. Each chalet room has a door which leads to a wooden verandah but we couldnt leave ours open as we were on the ground floor backing on to a wood and the security chain had been removed from the door so there was no means to securely keep it ajar. And yes, like a previous review, you get one wafer thin pillow per person!!

In summary, if you are visiting park asterix and can afford this hotel, I'd recommend it purely because of the convenience and - as a seasoned traveller to Disney Paris hotels - it compares favourably with its equivalents at Disney. But like any theme park hotel, it is not cheap and I'd personally avoid the restaurant for dinner. You dont have much option if you havent got a car but if, like us, you came via the euro tunnel so have your own transport, I'd recommend a 15 minute drive to Chantilly in the evening where eating out isn't cheap (though no more expensive than the Trois Hiboux) but it is a much nicer experience. Mind you - if you do go out for dinner... make sure you get back to the hotel by 11pm as the park gates get LOCKED at 11pm and there is some complicated "buzzer" system to re-gain access from that point!

We arrived at the hotel on the Saturday at around 12.00 but wre told nothing was ready and with no other facilities went to the park for the afternoon to keep the kids happy, we arrived back at the hotel later that day and the room key didnt work ( i know this happens alot in hotels ) and the room key didnt work the following day either had to change it again in fact everytime we went out we had to change the key.
The restaurant really is a joke you cannot class this as a restaurant ive had better meals in motorway service stations and the waitress sophie didnt listen to our drinks order fairly simple really we asked for three bottles of cola light and a bottle of rose, she returned with normal cola and two glasses of wine at which point we said that we didnt ask for this and we were then given a full mouthfull of abuse in french about our lack of respect ( are you kidding me love lack of respect i only ordered drinks ) we reported this to the restaurant manager who then gave us a free round of drinks obviously not the first time they have had problems with this waitress ( see other reviews ) the food is very very boring and i would avoid eating here if you can.......we then asked at the reception for two extra pillows as both adult beds only had a waffer thin pillow, we were then told no more pillows were available so all in all this looks like a beautiful hotel as you walk in however as they say you shouldnt judge a book by its cover as this book would be nicely leather bound and inside would be the news of the world ( full of empty promises ) very dissapointed and wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone.....overpriced and under serviced......thanks but no thanks !!!!!!!!!

good hotel, nice and clean, charming rooms with lots of wood and separate childrens area (not that we needed that but...). Big fireplace in the hall. Nice bar. Friendly reception and bar staff. Restaurant staff needs a bit of an update in politeness (aspecially a young female who bits your nose of for something someone else did?!?). Nice area of forest. Private parking. Buffet is nice but not gastronimic and has a reasonable price. Good amusementparkhotel. Breakfast is nice but when something is out, it won't get filled up again after 9 o'clock and breakfast is still till 10 o'clock.

This hotel was exactly what we were expecting as a 2 night stay whilst we visited Parc Asterix. The rooms were large and clean and with the completely seperate bunk bed area for the children probably the best family room we've ever stayed in. After a day in the Parc the relaxing woodland environment was great. The staff vwere brilliant with the kids and even though it was end of season Asterix and Obelix came to the hotel foyer at breakfast both days. A number of reviewers have complained about the evening meal prices especailly considerning if you have no transport yourselves then this is a monopoly location with no other restaurant for at least 5-6 miles. However to my mind a 4 course all you can eat buffet for 23 Euros is not bad at all especially with the huge chice and quality on offer. On top of this their are significant price reductions for children under 10 (about 9 Euros) and under 16 (16 euros). Also there was a free evening magic show which was excellent although in French of course!
There are some criticisms and firstly there are only 2 check -in check out desks and as most peole arrive on the free regular shuttle bus from the Parc the queue can take a while to clear. Secondly the price of drinks in the bar and restaurant is at expensive UK hotel pricing and considering that in France there is much less tax and duty on alcohol in France this was a rip off and I suggest one takes your own.

We have a very bad expirience. We came there from CDG airport (good conection) and bus take us from park to hotel and then we walk back in park. Hotel is nice, silent, good breakfast and the rate would be good but... 2nd day we came in hotel from park earlier (because we put our bags in hotel) because we have a flight. When we came in hotel, take our bags (1 min) so I asked driver to waite for us to take us back to park to catch a coach to CDG. HE WON'T DO IT. We asked (and explain) cheef of hotel but she told us she can't do anything, it's driver will. So bus went back to park without any passangers and we walked about 20 min (with bags), temeprature was 28 C. So they are writhing about free shutlle?? No, it shuthlle one way in the morning and one way in the afternoon. As we after understend, you can leave bags in park, but we didnt know that because their web site is not in english and we dont know french. So I was very very mad for that.

Stayed here while visiting Parc Asterix. It is a great combination. The rooms are large with bunk beds for the children. There is an area to walk and play in the woods. The restaurant is a well laid out buffet and the children seem to love it. Lots of varieties of very good food, with something for everyone. The characters from the Parc, Asterix and Obelix both come into the Hotel to shake hands with the children. There are also magic shows and childrens entertainments around dinner time. A nice bar/lounge are is provided for the adults. Easy access to the Parc with free parking. Highly recommended for families. Staff is helpful and very professional.
