“Great For Paris Vacation”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2013

Spent 2 days at this Hotel/Village. Houses are very nice and large, and the grounds are beautiful. We stayed in a 2BR townhouse and was very satisfied. Remember this is not a Hotel with a restaurant or food served, it is a condo/townhouse with a kitchen. You have to buy your own food and prepare it yourself. If this works for you then it is a great choice. There is a small market about 1/2 mile from the hotel and they also have a market on site, but you will pay more. About a 30-45 minute drive into Paris, but for the price, its worth the trip.

We rented a car while we were there. Before you do this you need to know that driving in Paris is a Free For All...... No Rules and No Respect From Other Drivers......Do Not Rent A Car In Paris If You Are A Timid Driver, You Must Have Guts Of Steel...... Parking was easy in Paris and plentiful, just look for the Big P on the streets. I do not know the cost of a Taxi, but I would not rent a car in Paris again and I am a strong driver.

Do forget this place is just a hop from the Disney Gate.

All in all, this is a great choice if small hotel rooms are not your style.

We have been to this resort several times and we like it because it has home comforts in the villa - fully equipped kitchen, lounge, dining area, washer and dryer in the villa, WiFi. There are lots of facilities on site - indoor and outdoor pool, several kids play areas, 5 a side football pitch, cycling hire. Also the site is secure with 24 hour security at the entrance gate.
If I have a criticism - it is that sometimes the villas haven't been fully checked to see if everything is working, but having said that if I've called reception for anything they have seen to the problem very quickly.

Our initial hesitation on being booked here by Interval International was dispelled by the friendliness of our reception, everything we had requested for was on file and for once someone read the requests made months beforehand. There are signs of wear and tear which hopefully will be addressed by management. Housekeeping needs propping up, especially the "At Your Service" department. But overall, our week stay was enjoyable. Room 1501 by the Giverny Garden is close to reception and within walking distance of the RER bus stop which shuttles toward La Vallee Shopping Center and the RER station, or Disney and TGV station. Additionally, there are also local shuttles which can be booked through the front desk. Very convenient. Two local villages you could walk to for fresh bread, pastries, snacks.

Room Tip: If you are not driving and need local transport, choose the rooms near reception -- Giverny area. T...

We booked online through Interval Timeshare Exchange and expected a 3-bedroom villa for our group of 7 adults. We were assigned unit 2205 which turned out to be a 2-bedroom unit with 2 T&B on the upper floor, and living, dining, and kitchen on the lower floor. One couple had to sleep on the sofa bed and the staff brought in an extra bed that could only fit beside the dining table; these 3 persons had to share baths on the upper though at least there was a guest toilet on the lower. This villa would be ideal for a family; it also has a fully equipped kitchen which was too good for our hurried breakfasts. The unit seems to be the last and farthest unit on the edge of the property with no ponds or pool in sight, although the living/dining opens to a patio looking out to what seems to be the edge of a golf course. All other units nearby appeared unoccupied. We did not linger to enjoy other amenities as we were out the whole day for trips to Paris (a good 45minutes away by car). The electricity seemed to run on timers as it would constantly trip throughout the times we were inside it, specially at night; not funny when you are in the middle of a shower and the bathroom goes pitch black. At first we had to rely on them to fix the problem but later as it kept recurring we found that you just have to switch up the circuit breaker but why this keeps recurring they didn't explain (maybe a frequent complaint they haven't fixed). Our companions on the upper floor slept comfortably but on the first level, there was a recurring banging noise from outside that at first we thought was due to the open window but later sounded like an animal thumping on the glass, or a thrashing from someone on the upper level which of course it wasn't. We learned to ignore and sleep through it and too lazy/scared to investigate in the pitch of dark. We spent all days in Paris, the shops, museums, cafes and other cities around Paris. There was a washer/dryer but the dryer took hours and 2-3 runs to dry even ordinary shirts so our turnover for laundry for 3 couples and one other person took forever. This was inconvenient as Paris was the third leg of our 5-country cross drive through Europe and as we had been staying in hotel rooms for a good many days, we had looked forward to doing laundry in this Paris villa. We only used 5 nights of our timeshare exchange; perhaps if you are one family with children and plan to do nearby Disney, then this would be a good stay for a few days.

Room Tip: Timeshare owners must clarify exactly what type of unit will be provided.

Just returned from a wonderful holiday using the resort as our base for days in Paris and in the Disneyland parks. There are obviously changes happening and people are trying their best to bring the resort up to the standard when we first joined. However the refurb in the town house where we have often stayed was the kind nightmares are made of, I really liked the old gold curtains and the cream seats-lots of taste and elegance .This has now been replaced by orange curtains with 1960'sstyle blossomy flowers the kind we had on carpets before oak floors and berber carpets became tasteful. The reception had a beautiful colour scheme which has been replaced by bog standard magnolia and all the new square seats face each other in regimental style- not relaxing. I appreciate colour schemes will not suit all, but this spoilt my holiday whilst I was in the resort. I will not look forward to another week to be surrounded by garish fabrics but it seems that this is here to stay for the next few years What a shame that one of the best aspects of the houses has been confined to a skip. The steam room continues to be out of action for the fourth year, but we did use the outdoor pool which had been cleared of leaves, mud and ducks. We did however find a razor in the pool and it was NOT HEATED. Someone had obviously been shaving their legs in the outdoor pool! The weather was great but take your own suntan lotion. We hadn't expected hot weather and sunlotion was 16 euros for a tiny bottle- Magic lotion!!!. The shop otherwise was vey good if pricey. Croisants and Pain au chocolats, apple turnovers were delicious especially when warm and just out of the oven. Staff behind the reception were polite and helpful, A special mention to the gardeners who keep he monet gardens beautiful and were considerate to shut off the lawn mower when we had breakfast outside due to good weather and not to avoid the awful curtains. Lots of mosquitoes in the evening. We all got bitten. The resort continues to be quiet. Expensive shuttle service to the park if there are five of you 20 euros per day-100pounds for five days transport up to marne le valet for the train into Paris which is more money or for entry into the park. When we signed up, a selling point was the free shuttle to the train station and park. many activities had been thought of but not many people joining in, I suspect because yet more money 9 euros each to wine taste. How many bottles of wine could you buy for 45 euros at the local Carrefour. We had a much better evening on our own which is a pity because we would have liked to share with others if they has existed at the wine tasting. I counted 2 people. We bought park tickets on line before we went and also paris visitee passes which gave us free entry to all sights monuments and museums, a boat trip down the seine, free use if the metro and the open topped hop on hop off buses and a real wine tasting experience at ochateau with talk and samples. This saves a family or a party of five a lot of money so you really can enjoy your holiday and afford the little extras

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking Monets Garden were the best regarding quick access to the shop . swimming pools an...

This must be our 8th stay at Marriott village and we're still loving it. Although there is a 'BUT'. It's been about 1.5 years now since our last stay and the townhouses (we were staying in a 3 bedroom one) do show sign of wear and tear. We also had a lot of technical issues. The oven made the electricity trip several times, leaving us with a halfcooked meal. It was attended to but it was only till the 3rd time that they decided to replace the oven.
Also one morning, no hot water. Called reception. Was seen to within a few hours and sorted our (something to do with a faulty thermostat on the boiler). Not nice to stand there in the morning in the shower when halfway through there is no more hot water....
Also inside signs of wear and tear. Pieces broke of furniture. Shutters had paint peeling off. All in all the houses really need soem TLC.
I took a walk through the resort and saw that in some areas the townhouses were looking a lot better on the outside. I think they are probably updating them but cannot do them all at once.

Apart from the technical problems and need to renovate we had a great stay. Our 3 year old daughter had a lovely time in the kids club. The clown was her biggest pal!
She loved the pool and just playing around in the playgrounds in the resort. Staff is very helpfull and friendly. Most of them speak english which is a big plus in France!

We will surely be back but hope that by that time some renovating is done!

We went to Disneyland Paris with 4 grownup children. We had a 3 bedroom villa, and we were amazed by it when we arrived.
First of all, the resort is beautiful. It's very quiet, has a nice pond with many ducks and geese who wonder around between the villas.
The villa itself has 3 very large bedrooms, each with it's own large bathroom. There's a flat screen TV in each room and in the living room.
The dining room is and table are also large, and the kitchen has all you need to cook your meals.
The resort is about 10 minutes drive from Disney Parks, and the same distance from Val d'Europe shopping center.
