Made my reservation via the hotels' internet site.
Overall experience was good.
The room was to dark though. You need to add more lighting in the room.
I had room 220.
The building's appeared to be army style barracks- 2 floors only.
The food was allright. Have had better and worse but what do you expect for for AI.
Breakfast was always good.
Would I recommend the hotel to travellers? Yes.
Some people have come year after year.
Not me.
The pool though is fantastic.
A suggestion though: Provide pool side service for drinks.
It would definitely be plus.

Room Tip: I had room 220. Nice room but I wish I had gotten a closer room to the restaurant and pool. Try anywhere from 204 through 212.

When we booked Turtle Beach we were looking for a lazy Caribbean Beach holiday where we could totally unwind and enjoy some winter warmth. We arrived on the 26th November and left on the 10th December. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and taken to our room which was extremely spacious with a dressing room area, decent sized bathroom and two queen beds. (It wasn't 5*, but clean and comfortable and typically Caribbean.) French windows opened out onto our own private patio and the beach and we were enchanted to see a humming bird hovering on one of the shrubs. I was a little disappointed to find that the beach was golden rather than the white beach I had been expecting, but the dolphins we saw very close to shore on the second morning more than made up for it. There was a lot of rainfall during our stay but this didn't stop us getting good tans as the sun was scorching when it made an appearance. We used the local buses, (stop right opposite the hotel), but the times were unreliable and tickets had to be purchased beforehand from Plymouth, (a forty minute walk by road or fifteen minute walk via the beach and a wade through the shallows and rough steep walk), or Scarborough. However, it was only a twenty minute walk by road into Black Rock where the 'Katzanjammer Steel Band', (the top steel band on the island), had their headquarters and it was free to go in and listen and buy very reasonably priced drinks at their bar. The two manager's cocktail parties we attended were delightful and we enjoyed the local calypso band who entertained throughout. There was entertainment every night we were there, despite the hotel being far from full and the food was good with barbecues twice a week and carveries on several occasions. Despite the pool being quite shallow, it was really lovely and sipping pinacoladas at the swim-up bar, the height of decadence. All the staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a day trip to Trinidad which was a real eye-opener as this island is totally different to Tobago and enjoyed the fantastic bird and animal life at the wildlife sanctuary up in the northern mountains and the sight of thousands of red ibis descending to roost in the bird sanctuary swamplands close to Port of Spain. The highlights of our holiday were going to the goat races at Buccoo, (totally hilarious and quite unique), and hiring a car for two days and exploring every inch of this beautiful island including the famous rainforest, and, spending five glorious hours on the only truly white beaches on the island at Pigeon Point. We were all-inclusive at Turtle Beach and found it exceptionally good value for money as we met other couples who had booked room only and were horrified by the prices. A wonderful holiday in a wonderful location.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the 100s blocks as these have been refurbished and are closer to the main hub of things.

Good value for money. rooms are spacious and clean with a nice sea view 150 ft off . No services nearby, you ll need a car,. Food is good yet with no many options. The long beach needs ya to be a good swimmer to swim out at sea, The gold colored sand and the steep weavy shoreline makes it not ideal for kids. Expect vendors, stray dogs(quiet and small) and occasionally a cow stepping alongside whikle strolling the 1 km sea-line of turtle beach. The island is very rural, people extremely friendly and correct, even them vendors. Staff can be kinda moody but helpful and attentive. No night entertainment. There is only one restaurant and 2 bars, few brand liquers available. The pool is quite big and 3'6'' max depth. A place to relax, there is not much other to do, neither in the resort nor across the island

Room Tip: any room looks directly onto the ocean, a king size bed is advisable

Just returned from Turtle Bech Tobago 24 hrs ago. After 3 nights and 4 days had a pretty good time...had value for money. Staff at the hotel like Esther, Crystal, Bert, Raoul and Allan made it a very special time. Generally, staff were all friendly, welcoming, accommodative and made you feel special.Pool area is clean, large size, well designed and at this time not crowded at all. Pool bar drinks were well blended and bartenders helpful in drink selection. If you go all inclusive and are repeaters as we were, treatment is royal ! Food was excellent, a blend of local and continental cuisine thanks to "Freddy" and her team. Dining area well laid out and decorated in Christmas colours. Service was quick and efficient and very courteous. There is room for conference and meetings for at least 30 persons. Front desk service is very professional and hospitable...thanks to Esther and staff. Overall great colour blending, washrooms very clean and well maintained, pool is cleaned daily early in the mornings. Grounds well manicured. Rooms are well designed and room service is thorough and regular...thanks to Sheela and team. Security is there at nights in in the form of flood lights and security personnel.
Could be improved if the exterior walls were repainted and a large caption of "Turtle Beach Resort" could be done in blue. A couple of smalll paintins of turtles would be appropriate. At reception, on entry there can be a bellman to help with the luggage to the rooms. Corridors could be better lit at night. Give local talent a chance to show what they can do, there need to be promotion at the hotel in entertainment. Indoor activity such as fitness center, mini golf, badminton, pool table and spa could be considered for the future. All in all, we 4 had a great time. Krish, Ann, Vish and Jeannie.

Stayed here for 3 nights in December 2012.

Pros:
- Extreemly friendly staff
- Large clean pool with a swim-up bar
- Rooms were spacious
- Hotel grounds were clean and well kept
- Situtated directly on the beach
- About 20 mins drive from the airport
- Food was ok (not special but just ok)
- Mini bar had a mixture of beers and softdrink

Cons
- Rooms are in need of an upgrade
- The bathtub didn't drain properly so you had to wait for the bath water to go down before someone else could use it (ewwww)
- There's an open area in front of the pool bar which is in need of some upgrading (didn't look resort quality)
- The beach isn't inviting. It was rough (not suitable for children).
- No elevators - My room was on the 2nd floor so i had to carry my luggage up some stairs. If you're travelling with lots of luggage or have issues walking please consider this before selecting your room.

Room Tip: If you're looking for a good view of the sea ask for the rooms on the 2nd floor (these rooms are furthest from the lobby, bars and pool). If you want to be near the pool ask for rooms on the ground floor nearer the lobby.
