Booked Willows Villa through booking.com for our trip to Jamaica over the Christmas period. We were sceptical at first as we were unable to find any written reviews online. However, that said we thought it looked nice from the pictures so we booked. The prices were stated on the website when we booked and the property contacted us soon after to say they would be charging our card the full amount which we had no problem with. However, as we were in the process of booking our flights and firming up dates I asked the properly to hold off as we may have to change our dates slightly. The next day I amended our dates down to 6 nights which all went through fine on the website. A few days later we then got a message from the property saying as we were booking over the Xmas period (which had always been the case) they were then going to charge us more than double the rate it was advertised and originally booked for and that we had to stay for a minimum of 7 nights. Shocked by this as this was not mentioned when they first contacted us and they were more than happy to charge us the normal, original amount only a few days before. We had already booked our flights by this point so it was not possible to stay an extra night which meant they still would have charged us for it. The original price was also still quoted on our account on booking.com so not even sure if this was allowed? It seemed like they had become in demand and decided to bump their prices up. Hugely disappointing and unfair as we couldn’t justify the new cost so had to cancel our booking and which evidently ruined our Xmas plans.
