“Amazing place for a western tourist”
Reviewed September 19, 2013

HI! We were in GWK Cultural park with our private guide and driver, he is our friend as well. Without him we would have never found this amazing place with huge statues. A real place for culture lovers!! Even us (who normally likes beaches and bars) were amazed!! Biggest role plays Vishnu, Garudas head (this statue was supposed to be over 16 meters high!!) and Vishnus hands-statues. You can also see some Bali-dancing in anfitheatre at the same price. Ticket to the area cost in April 2013 85.000rupia=5,50€=7,40$. Not much for so much cultural experience!!

“The statute is still under construction but the view to the city is awesome”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

The main statue is still under construction. One can see the head and several of its part but it is still not completed. My guess once it is completed it will be impressive but not now. There park itself is pretty large with several other small animal sculptures. There is also a bronze statue of the God Wisnu which seems to be completed.

But the best part I would say is the view of the city from atop, since the park is located on a top hill. This is a most to see especially at night.

“An unfinished park”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

We visited the Garuda Wisnu Kencana attraction several months ago.It was easy to find ,we simply put in the name in our GPS and soon we arrived. Its a pleasant driving experience in Bali with our rented car.Went in the venue , we saw several restaurants , we heard traditional Balinese music , so we proceed to enter the theatre. We can see traditional Balinese dance here for free. Then we go up on further inside , we saw attractions that was still unfinished. This venue was an ambitious project , abandoned for several years. But now with new investor, hopefully this project will be finished in 3 years time. The already built statues ( the head of Garuda ,and the half bodied Wishnu), were exhibited while the rest of this bronze statue built by the well known Balinese artist Nyoman Nuarta ,in Bandung city , West Java.Enterance fee for adults is $ 4 for locals and $ 8 for foreigners.A nice venue for phototaking , but nothing much to do here

I will never be bore visiting this area, even I've been came here for three times. It was really proud when heard the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana wil beat the Liberty statue regarding the High ( when it's finish) .But I still wondering when that day will come.Last time I visited ,it was thirteen years ago ;(

“Must to see: Dance Performer”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

My second visit to this place since 2010, the fee entrance is raise so high, from 20,000 IDR into 40,000 IDR within 3 years. I'm not quite interesting with this place but I aim to see the dance performance. Going to Bali without see Kecak Dance is meaningless, I choose this place because with 40,000 we can see dance performance for free.

Garuda Wisnu Kencana offer abandon statue, people say GWK is failed project. Because since my first visit here there nothing change. The Wisnu statue still have half hand.

The good news is I read in some article that they will rebuild and complete it within 3 years after 20 years project started. I hope so.
