Very cool hotel/restaurant. Rooms are amazingly well decorated in nice african style. We felt really comfortable, like at home! The breakfast was the best we had during all our trip, home made products were served next to the pool and with great views over the botanic garden. We also recommend the restaurant next to the hotel (same name and owners).

Malandela's B&B is a wonderful place. We just loved our stay here. The staff and owners are personable, friendly, and service oriented. The rooms are clean and professionally designed for comfort. The B&B is situated on an amazing property for exploring. Tranquil gardens for wandering about, incredible mountain & sunset views, high quality shops and a farmhouse restaurant serving up an excellent & tasty menu at good value prices. Enjoy a sundowner at the pub and watch the most amazing sunsets. The breakfast at the B&B farmhouse is overwhelming to start your day.
Very good value for the money.
And Malandela's is ideally situated in Malkerns Valley for exploring Swaziland.

We chose Malandela's based on the reviews in tripadvisor. To be honest we were disappointed. Our room was tiny, a double bed encompassed by a wall on 3 sides. To alleviate the heat a fan was provided, but there was limited space to put it, basically about 30cm from your head at night. The room was quiet, but very hot. The shower was average, I had a nice hot, if weak shower. My girlfriend was not so lucky on the temperature front.

There haven't been many negative reviews of the rooms here, I would like to think that we had an unusual experience as we arrived in the evening, and they were full (discovered this when we tried to change rooms).

The garden, restaurant and general environment were lovely, and the breakfast was fantastic. The room just let it down to such an extent that we left with a negative perception.

Wonderful garden with pool - rooms and buildings in unique style.
Breakfast was ok, but dinner in the restaurant was the highlight: very good food by the fireplace at a reasonable price.
Stayed for only one night but would have loved to spend more time...

I visited Malandela's on a group tour of Swaziland & South Africa. Malandela's was our first stop after a freezing night in JoBurg and what a warm spot, actually and figuratively, that we landed in. The whole experience here is full of love, fun and creativity. The rooms, restaurant and environs are deligthful, restful and welcoming. A home away from home you have everything you need in the one location; artistic rooms, pool, gardens restaurant with extensive menu, lively bar & House On Fire - which even without an event on is a venue of distinction. Five star recommendation from me!

Our accommodation was very clean and spacious and the grounds of Malandelas are lovely to walk round. However we found the restaurant staff rather unfriendly and the vegetarian choices were limited. The place is quite posh and is probably not what we were looking for as backpackers. There's not much of a feel of local culture. The breakfasts were good though the advertised freshly baked muffins never made an appearance!

Malandela's B&B is a real nice place to stay, with a very very beautiful garden. After a long drive through Swaziland it is a little paradise, really a surprise. We slept in the pink room, overlooking the swimming pool. A lovely room. The bed could have been better, but Malandela's is perfect to stay and relax. We had dinner in the restaurant which we enjoyed a lot. Breakfast was great! Friendly staff.
