Jonas Schafer, the chef and owner, has personally sponsored the culinary training of local Cund women and given them his vision and recipes for the dishes he wants his guests to eat. He takes advantage of the seasonal bounties of fruit from the orchards, meats, vegetables, herbs from his own garden and truffles found beneath the local hazelnut trees. Visitors from all over Europe come for the surroundings and the cuisine and are never disappointed. I have wonderful memories of the food and the friendship.
