I have not long since returned home from spending four amazing days exploring the sights and surrounds of Taranna and Port Arthur with my sister and mother. When we drove into the grounds of the Norfolk Bay Convict Station we were met by beautiful gardens and manicured lawns and a stunning old building that was our accommodation overlooking Norfolk Bay. As we stepped foot in the door of the historical B&B our host Lorella was there to greet us with a smile and she could not have made us feel more welcome after our flight from Sydney and drive down from Hobart Airport. We just loved Lynton’s freshly baked bread and its aroma that swept the corridors late each night, ready to be served at breakfast the next morning. Lorella’s home made jams were so scrumdiddlyumptious that we bought some to take home with us. The complimentary port in the study by an open fire was always the perfect nightcap to top off a perfect day. We were looked after really well and just loved the complimentary massage chair that was conveniently located outside our Garden Room suite. Location was tranquil that at night you could hear a pin drop and because the skies were clear on our stay we were fortunate to see the stars stretch on for miles above the water. When eating out there isn't a varied choice of nearby restaurants unfortunately and if you do prefer to eat in, there is a barbecue on the premises and I'm sure if given the right amount of notice that your lovely hosts will whip you up a home cooked meal. So a big thank you to Lorella and Lynton for helping make our stay a most memorable and pleasurable one. We're still on a high from our trip so 'we'll be back' :)
