The walk starts from the parking and if you go clockwise at some point you can choose to go steep up or stay left and go around and walk upstairs from the back. If you go right, you reach the top of the crater the view is amazing on a clear but be aware that the wind is really strong up there. By walking around the crater you can join (not a real built path) the viewpoint deck and enjoy more amazing view and the ground squirrels.
Takes 1,5 h if you take it easy. Have water and sunscreen. Enjoy to see el cotillo majanicho corralejo and the inland of Fuerteventura.

The walk is not hard but the oath built on various parts of the circuit are a bit hard - they are volcanic rock made into a path and it takes some concentration to walk on them. The bit up to the crater is quite steep but not very long and the view is worth it. Up there you will be mobbed by squirrels asking for titbits but they are charming and that is not a bad way to stop and catch you breath. Not the best walk on the island but a nice one and even with someone whose walking is not great =, it was manageable.

Well worth the trek, did do it in trainers ok but if you have boots use them for more grip, just enough exercise for those who are not super fit like us, lovely views all the way, recommended

Take the road out of Lajares before the football ground and you will be rewarded with a good walk and view of the caldera. Not too taxing for families and safe for kids as there is a barrier at the top.
