“Lovely peaceful place (except for the small explosions)!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

This is a small, manageable place to visit and has a series of beautiful buildings. Several others have mentioned the "firecracker oven" and that took us by surprise - every time it happened which was often! Phuket is super hot (temperature-wise) so I'd recommend getting here in the early morning. We were there midday and were just too hot to really explore the way I wish we had. All we could think of was swimming! The Phuket Botanic Gardens are nearby and we enjoyed combining the two. A post about it on our blog.

“Beautiful architecture, great atmosphere”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 4, 2013

Absolutely stunning architecture and beautiful grounds create quite a spiritual experience. We went alone (not part of a tour group), so the lack of information was a bit disappointing as we really wanted to know about the rituals and the decorations for instance, and had to rely on asking fellow tourists for the most part.

“Main Temple in Phuket”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

Beautiful Buddhist Temple complex. Please observe the rules for dress that are clearly posted everywhere. Basically no shoes no hats no skin. Observe how the Thai people are dressed. Beach wear is not appropriate. Temple gift shop has very reasonable prices for Buddhist icons and amulets. Stairs inside the temple allow you to climb to the top for a nice view.

“Do not go at night”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

Beautiful temple, but open only during the day. Small temple grounds but very beautiful buildings.

In what was a D'oh moment I scheduled this for the evening and managed to get there only during the night... big mistake.

“Nice temple, one more example of beautiful art in Asia”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

Seems to be so many temples throughout Asia and this is one more example of the beautiful art that is available for all of us to view. There is a large "firecracker oven", which is kind of interesting. And there is a shopping area with reasonably priced Thai souvenirs.
