You now have to park your car at the bottom of the hill and walk up the 3km and then back down again. The hill is quite steep but is on a well maintained road and path. The monkeys start to greet you from about half way up. They are very entertaining so go prepared with lots of bananas and nuts. We were met by a thunderstorm at the top of the hill so had a very wet walk down.

That was an interesting experience to visit the Hill. We found it occasionally when we saw a road to the mountain and decided to drive along it. At first we saw dozens of monkeys sitting and playing near the road and several tourists who were taking photos of them. We climbed to the top to see all the road and the monkeys that live there and take some photos.

Remember not to let monkeys to take any of your stuff. You will probably never get it back.

The visit here was at the trail end of a full days tour which strted with a elephant trek, canoe ride and other sightseeing. This location was at the resting Buddha and there were monkeys galore! They werevery spoiled, declining the bananas we fed them in favour of the rambutan and sweet corn!

The Monkey hill is not accessible by scooter or car anymore but has developed into public sports site. You have to leave your vehicle into parking area next to Green Forest restaurant and then enjoy 3 km walk uphill. The way up is newly revovated and in very good condition. Mostly locals go there for walking, jogging or bycycling.
Still lots of monkeys but you are not allowed to feed them anymore.
Dinner in Green Forest restaurant might be tricky as nobody was able to take our order in English. As a reult we got something else what we ordered, still tasty and reasonable priced.
