“Friendly family run”

Very good breakfast place and excellent coffee. Family run with lot of antiques in the decor. They also serve lunch and dinner. unlike many place they open early ( 7 A.M.) and so it is a good place to go before going on your excursions.

“A hidden gem in Phuket Town”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

My partner and I really enjoyed having lunch at this restaurant! Located in the heart of Phuket Town, it serves wonderful Thai, European and Vegetarian food. And uses no MSG, thank you! We were hopelessly lost trying to find the old neighborhood with those sino-portuguese style homes (that Phuket Town is famous for!) when we stumbled upon this restaurant. Not crowded when we first walked in, but 15 minutes later, it was completely filled with office workers on lunch break and a few other…uh…lost tourists like us!
It was a very warm day so we immediately ordered cold, fresh coconuts for drink. Cooled off and re-hydrated, we browsed the menu for lunch. We chose stir-fried noodles with prawn and mustard green; squid in garlic and black pepper sauce; sautéed morning glory with chili and soy bean; and steamed brown rice. Everything was so delicious, perfectly seasoned and full of flavor, especially the sautéed morning glory. We just can’t get enough of this dish (morning glory is also called pak bung or water spinach) because it has such a unique, delightful taste: nutty, crunchy, fresh…it’s our all time favorite Thai dish!
This charming restaurant has the look of an old world, colonial era café/lounge. There’s an interesting collection of antique tea pots and foreign beer bottles at the bar. And a gift shop upstairs! Very friendly English speaking waitstaff. Lunch for two 540Baht (about $17US). Highly recommended.
Tip: Don’t forget to check out the fascinating multi-tier-wedding-cake-like pink and white building (it’s an apartment/condo/shopping arcade) in front of the restaurant. THAT was the reason why we got sidetracked from our search for the historical homes!!!
