“Ideal stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 19, 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for 2 nights an it was perfect for us. It's a cheap hotel with a very clean room and very close to the pier to catch a boat to Phi Phi, which was our intention. The pool is just fine, and we used it a bit. The staff were very friendly to us and one of them took me to a motorbike rental shop and waited for me so I could follow him back. Above and beyond. Also a free transfer to the pier for us. We rode into Patong which took about half an hour. This place is not close to the beach! Phuket town is a little walk away. It's down a short rubble road, and quiet at night so ideal if your catching the ferry. I'd stay again.
We are both travelling and after cheap accommodation and this vests a bamboo bungalow hands down.
Review is on a double fan room.

All the reviews about the terrible staff are absolutely true.
There is written Check IN at 2 pm, Check OUT at 11 am. We came here day before, looked for the rooms and agreed we come next day to stay there. So next day about 11 in the morning we arrived and checked the room, it was cleaned and ready to move in. But stuborn lady in the reception didn't want to let us in! We said that we checked the room and it is already cleaned and prepared, but the lady continued to tell us that the they need to clean something, spray something... and it was absolute lie.
We had heavy bags, computers and cameras and we wanted just to leave in the room because we had a meeting with friends. We asked the lady just to let us leave our things in the room bu the started to shout that we can not move in and can not put our bags in the room. This was just ridiculous. It seemed that she doesn't want us to move in earlier as it is writter, don't know why.
Well, after we come back in the evening and finally could move in to the room we were shocked. It was the first hotel in Thailand which didn't have complimentary water. We have been to so many guest houses, cheap as 250baht and even there they always had water in the room. When we asked the lady, she said we have to buy water. This is not the end. There wasn't any soap or shampoo, no trash can in the room, no internet, small like 20 inch TV and crazy blinds on the glass doors.
The worst hotel We have stayed ever.

I chose this place because it was conveniently located close to Rassada Pier. I stayed one night only. Creami was at the reception and she was gracious enough to let me check in "early" she also helped me with confirming my pick up for the evening show I had booked, the Simon Star Cabaret show. although I knew it was a "no frills" back pack style of place to stay, I expected a clean room but it wasn't, which for me is the basic, regardless of how much you pay. there was no soap, no toiletries and no toilet paper either...when asked, they were gracious enough to do the necessary as fast as possible. Creami's mother, who owns the place is a lovely lady, very helpful and obliging. She was very helpful too and gave me good tips. Would I return? Honestly no, unless they do some upgrade, at least in "cleaning" the room. It's a shame because they are very nice and sweet ladies.

Room Tip: I was upstairs in a room with fan only. It was quiet, felt I was in a farm, with the rooster as my...

The bed was basically a net of metal with a thin covering. Laid a towel over it but was still jamming into my ribs all night. No toilet paper or garbage can. Shower had clumps of nasty hair in it. Would never stay here again.

Ill start by saying that we did only pay £9 for the room so i didn't have big expectations. It started off well, the owners collected us from the airport after a late flight which was night. Mini bus was bit stinky but you got used to it.
Then it went down hill....The room is literally just a white square room with a bed, desk and wardrobe. We didn't pay for A/C...definitely pay for A/C! The blinds in the room covering the patio doors (the only door leading into the room) had been left up all day so the room was like an oven! The fan made no difference at all. The bed had to pillows and a silk sheet that didn't cover both of us.
The bathroom was not in the room but out the door at the back across the balcony thing and in through another door. It was another box room that didn't look finished and wasn't that clean, there was a mould in places. When we woke up in the morning we had no running water which wasn't nice at all considering we had had an uncomfortable and disrupted night sleep. We left the room for breakfast and our door patio door wouldn't lock. the owner asked us to leave the key with the maintenance man and he would lock it while we ate breakfast. On our return to the room we discovered he hadn't even locked the door and our stuff had been left out in an unlocked room...not a happy camper! All the owner could say was "is there stuff missing?"

Breakfast was ok and slightly awkward. We were given a choice of continental or american, choosing american....it was just egg on toast. The table was right next to the owners house who was walking round in a nighty and dressing gown that she picked us up in the night before. The area was dirty and the table cloth was covered in loose dirt like it had been left out all night.

This place has so much potential...the rooms just need a lamp, possibly a bed side table...leaving the Tv on the wall would be a nice touch. A nice big cotton sheet on the bed wouldn't go amiss and the bathroom needs a bloody good scrub with bleach! Avoid this place if possible i wouldn't recommend

Arun Apartment was just what I needed for the last stop on my journey. It is simple, but clean and peaceful. Staff is helpful. Nice pool, beautiful lush greenery. Sea can be seen from the roof. Breakfast and drinks are available if you ask. Thai restaurant down the street. Shuttle to town at 10am and 6:30pm
