We had to wait for more than 1hr at the pier before getting on our boat, thinking this is an hr out of our trip. Once we got going we stopped to snorkel, this was ok, but overcrowded with other boats making it dangerous. Stopped at the main pier on Phi Phi and was only given around 45min to look around - would of been nice to have more than an hour to explore as there seemed so much happening there - I guess because we took so long to leave they cut our times down? Off again to another beach for lunch. Lunch was average, but again rushed and couldn't stay on the beach to swim which would of been nice with no-one around. Went to another beach to swim - again overcrowded with boats and people. Our guide was great and the guys on the boat were lovely, but organisation was terrible!

The boat ran out of fuel. How do you run out of fuel with 30 + people on board when you do this everyday. That was just one of the problems. The first beach we arrived at, where the movie "The Beach" was filmed, was so busy with boats we took over 1/2 hour to get docked. Because of all the wasted time waiting we only had 25 minutes on this OVER CROWED small beach. We had to hurry because the tide was dropping quickly. There had to 40 + boats, packed with tourists, all in this same spot, on a small beach. So, as you can imagine the race was on to get to the next stop. Next stop was lunch. We had a group of 10-12 Chinese tourists on our boat who were dropped at a different location for lunch than the rest of us. After they were dropped, we had a 20 minute ride to our location, rushed through our lunch in 40 minutes only to drive 20 minutes back to pick them up after they had a leisurely 1 hour and 20 minute lunch. Our lunch was cold, terrible food, extremely busy, and crowded. We stopped to snorkel, rushed for 25 minutes. Then we were off to only run out of fuel. This was the tour from hell. The crew rigged two jerry cans fuel to get us going, only to run out before we reached a beach. Another one of the companies boats, full of tourists, towed us to a beach to wait for fuel to arrive. In all we spent only 2 hours of the 8 1/2 hours we were on the boat, physcially off. You can't see anything from the boat as you travel as you sit well below the window line and are bouncing around too much to stand. All you see are the sites that have already been passed. The boat is too crowed and you site wedged between your new found friends who you become very cosy with. I think I have said enough.

Extremely disappointing. Over crowded boat. Could not get into beaches too many boats to dock. Fighting low tidess. BOAT RAN OUT OF FUEL ON RETURN TO PHUKET!!!! Would not recommend this to anyone. Spent 8 1/2 hours on the tour and only 2 hours of that was at a beach (25 min), lunch (40 min - which was horrible) and snorkeling (30 min). Spent another 30 minutes on a beach waiting for fuel to be delivered so we could make it back to Phuket.

We booked with Phuket Adventures through our Virgin rep from our resort and we were not disappointed. As we paid 3,300 baht per person per trip we got the service we expected.
We booked the James Bond Island tour and Phi Phi Islands.

We had no more than 30 people on our speedboat. We sat at the front of the boat - both times. The second trip was very bumpy, but no fault of the captains. Felt safe at all times. We were constantly offered soft drinks by our guide and he brought round fresh fruit quite often too.

I agree with one of the comments below where it was sad to see the reefs dying, but we are to blame for this. There was lots of fishes in and around the reefs still though.

I had previously wrote loads to do with this trip but the review did not save. I can't remember the names of everywhere we went on all of these trips, but I loved every single stop, and loved every minute of the trips as did my husband. Highly recommend to others!!

We took this tour to Phi Phi Islands by recommendation of the hotel we were staying at, and to be honest, we expected a lot more for the price we paid (considering it was a "VIP" service). The boat was in good condition, but it was extremely crowded, and unfortunately, once it was our turn to get onto it, there were no seats available in the inner, covered part. Hence, we were forced to sit at the front of the speedboat during the whole day (no possibility of going inside to take a break from the strong Phuket sun because it was packed!). Soaking up the sun wasn't really the worst part of it, at least we had great views of the islands; the problem was that, being at the front of the boat, it was as if the guide and crew had completely forgotten about us, no drinks of fresh fruit were offered to us when they were offered to the people inside the boat (they only gave us some pineapple once, and offered us the remaining sugary sodas because all the water was gone!). So yes, there were too many people for very little food and drink. The guide was no good, when we passed or stopped at a spot marked on the itinerary, he didn't give any explanation whatsoever, for instance, we stopped for sightseeing at VIking Cave and he didn't even mention that was the place the nests used to make bird's nest soup were found! Plus, he tried to be funny but he was just plain annoying. Lunch was very poor quality compared to normal, thai street food, and everything was rather cold. I think most of the boats travelling to Phi Phi stop at the same place for lunch, but still, disappointing when you are paying much more than other people and at the end of the day, you even eat the same lousy food.

We were supposed to stop at Bamboo Island, but instead stopped at an overcrowded beach (don't recall the name). We passed by Maya Bay at the beginning of the tour to see if we stopped, but the guide said it was "too crowded", and that we would go after lunch (which was crazy full!). We were supposed to snorkel at Maya Bay but we weren't given enough time to do so (because the snorkeling site was very far away from where the boat had anchored, and while you got there and back it would take half the time on the beach).

All in all, very poor service. Phi Phi islands are gorgeous but would be best enjoyed with a better company!
