“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2014

We had stayed in Sino Inn, Phuket town from Dec 20th to 23rd (2013). we reached the hotel from direct AC bus from Phuket airport to the town. The town is bang in the centre of Phuket town. However, it is about 12km from the tourist (and party) hotspot of Patong beach. I would recommend this hotel for someone looking for a quiet time. In case, one is looking for beach vacation, then i would recommend some hotels near patong beach, which also has plenty of restaurants to suit your wallet and taste. (particularly if you are Indian and longing for vegetarian food).

About the hotel, the hotel room was spacious and clean. 2 bottles of water and 2 packets of noodles were complimentary and refreshed every day. The hotel also has a washing machine which can be used for about 20 bahts / use. WIFI was complimentary. It also has a in-house restaurant (however, no room service) . Shop for various tours around the town as the travel desk in-house was relatively expensive. Overall, i think this hotel is good value for money.

The Sino Inn is fairly new and quite nice. Although the bathroom decor did not seem to follow the room's updated look, both of the spaces were very large. The balcony is a nice touch but the music next door may be a bit intrusive if you are a light sleeper. Not to worry cause it seems to stop at around 12 or so. The TV in room 55 has lots of channels where the audio does not work properly. Our family of 6 stayed in 3 different rooms and the other TVs did not have this issue.
We were considering staying in Patong Beach but glad we opted for an place near Old Phuket Town. This area is much more suitable for a family stay unless your family likes to hit up the countless bars in Patong.
The reception staff were wonderful and patient. We wasted her time during check-in because we thought we had paid for the hotel online but after looking through online bank statements for 20 minutes, turns out we did not but she was patient and held her smile.
The local bus will stop in front of the hotel so keep an eye out for the pink truck. If you need to hit up other areas in Phuket, all the bus/trucks leave the Old Phuket Town in front of the market. Only 30baht to get to Patong. Be prepared to go through the mountains cause its a steep ride!
The WiFi was fairly decent even thought we were all connected at once.
Tip: the coffee shop 'Sweets n' Treats' served me the best Thai tea I've ever had! It is just a block down from the hotel.

Sino Inn is great value for your money if staying Phuket Town. We stayed four nights in January 2014. Pros:
2 free bottles of soda, 2 bottles of drinking water, and 2 packages of noodles free every day.
Rooms have a balcony, refrigerator, good shower (for Thailand), TV with many channels and free wifi. Most of the staff were extremely helpful. You will learn which ones have better English.
7-11 is next door w/ ATM.
Terrific value (we paid around 700baht a night).
Modern decor and very clean.

Cons:
Located next to a bar with loud music at night (however we were usually so tired that we fell asleep anyways).
15-20 minute walk from restaurants and cafes.
Tours we booked were overpriced compared to what other people we met paid.

Overall, a really great value for your money if you are staying in Phuket Town.

I arrived quite late and the taxi driver dropped me at their sister property by mistake. One of the staff DROVE me to there other property - incredibly helpful!! Nice place, quiet , clean and would recommend.

Not sure about the location as I didn't get a chance to have a look around!

Traveller tip: remember a towel and a lock!

Lovely spacious rooms, with modern decor and great fluffy pillows! You get 2 free bottles of coke, 2 bottles of water and 2 packets of noodles free every day and each room has a balcony, a fridge, a decent shower, a television and free wifi.

Tours can be booked at reception, but the staff do not have good English, which hampers the service a little.

I would suggest booking a high room to avoid the noise of the town at night. We stayed on both the 6th floor (no noise) and the 3rd floor (some music - nothing some ear plugs can't fix!)

Just 15 minutes walk away from some great restaurants and cafes and also a similar distance from the local bus terminal to Kata and Karon beach, as well as Patong.

The other bus terminal to the different provinces and airport is a 25 minute walk too. Also located right next to a seven eleven.

A great wee budget hotel!

I came across this place online and decided to stay seeing how cheap it was and how nice the rooms seemed. As well, the website shows instructions for a cheaper way to the hotel from the airport which came in handy.

Pros:
- Great price for a nice room
- Free stable Wifi
- Free sodas, coffees, instant noodles
- Provides bowls, plates and cutlery

Arrived at the room and it was more than decent for around 730 baht per night including tax. The room matched exactly with the pictures you see online although if you get closer, the details such as the floors and the sink may not look as nice. Nonetheless, still a terrific bargain and I highly doubt there are many places in Phuket town which can offer something at this price range. The room comes with free water and sodas as well as bowls and cutlery for late night take out food which came in very handy for both nights that I stayed in. The room also came with free noodles which was very thoughtful as most hotels cheap out on things like this. Wifi was free as well and it was fast and stable unlike many other hotels.

Cons:
- Had to walk 20+ minutes or so to nearest scooter rental place
- Located next to a bar with live music which can be noisy at night
- Staff did not understand much or any english.

Sino Inn is located around 15 - 20 minutes walking distance west of Old Town Phuket which is where restaurants cafes and touristy shops are. Its not far but its not exactly close either, so I would recommend renting a scooter if you can ride one. However, renting a scooter is somewhat farther past old town phuket which is inconvenient when you check out of the hotel and have to return it without your luggage. It was okay for me as I had a big backpack and no suitcases and was able to ride the scooter with the bag on but this might not be the case for most people. The hotel is also next to a live music bar which gets pretty loud actually but I didnt mind because the music was good and I'm a deep sleeper. Usually quiets down around 12:30 - 1. As well, the staff didn't quite understand english so don't ask them any touristy questions out of the basic check in-check out procedure. For example, they didnt seem to understand when I asked them what were the best places to see the sunrise and sunset.

Conclusion:
It's a great, honest and simple place to stay that wont be deceiving you with false pictures. Stay here if you don't need facilities like a pool or a gym room. The room is clean comfortable and cheap so stay here if you're on a budget and perhaps even if you're not.

We had a stopover in Phuket before heading to Koh Phi Phi and stayed on the Sino Inn Hotel.
The hotel was very nice with very friendly staff. The room was clean big and bright with a big king size bed, It wasn't all that very pretty and had a bit of a utilitarian feel to it but it had everything we needed and was located very close to the old town (a few mins walk). Breakfast was served on an upper floor terrace and was pretty good with lots of variety, but juices were concentrates rather than fresh. We shared a taxi with another couple from the airport (650B), and were collected for ferry in the morning so the location turned out fine.
I wouldn't recommend a stopover in Phuket if you can avoid it but we did have a nice stroll around the old town and caught an indie market which was pretty cool too, so all in all Phuket town was better then I had expected.
