We decided to have a fun day out and picked the 3 hour ATV and Whitewater rafting tour. We were picked up from our hotel in Kamala for the long drive to Phang Nga on the mainland. We started with the rafting which was well organised and a lot of fun. It turned into a water fight before we even got started as the other rafts splashed everyone as they passed. If you didn't want to row, you didn't have to, so I was content to sit and hold on. They were very safety conscience and when an incident occurred with another raft, our guide dived in to help. He came back on board apologising however there was no need as he assisted and helped another tour group where the consquences could have been fatal. After the rafting we were ferried back to main base where we were provided with a cooked lunch (one of the nicest I have eaten here). We then were transported to the ATV's. As is was pouring rain we were offered raincoats to put on over our clothes and after a safety brief we were ready to go. Our tour guide took us to a waterfall where we could go swimming. Unfortunately the rain was quite heavy so the waterfall was running extremely fast so we declined. We then headed off through a village and out past farmland where we stopped and went into a field to see thai women planting rice seeds. One of the ladies offered me to try it. I truly enjoyed the interaction with the ladies regardless off the language barrier. After the ride drinks, fruit and sandwiches were offered before heading off on our 2 hour trip back to the hotel. It was a great day out and different from just heading to the markets or beach.
