Owner description: Phuket weekend market (locally known as Naka Market), located along Chao Fa West Road just outside Phuket Town not far from Central Festival, is a fascinating jumble of secondhand goods, curios, pirated items, live animals and a large amount of great local food to sample. It really is worth a visit even if you're not planning on buying anything. If you were to ask, "What's for sale here?" The answer would probably be, "How much time do you have?" as the list of goods is endless.

Markets are about 5kms out of Phuket Town centre so not really a walk. Only on Saturday & Sunday night from 4pm till late. Well worth a visit! Shopping is good & as others have said, cheaper than Patong but even if you are shopped out well worth coming here for the eating! Food is incredible - rows and rows if great Thai food & super cheap. Sit down places with food most could identify but also some mystery stuff for those more adventurous. And cakes - a huge cake stall - yummo! Worth the visit!

Go to the night market if you want to buy the cheapest non-branded goods. Handbags, shoes, t shirts, candle stands, artifacts, juices, fruits, etc. There are more items to the list, but these are what I checked out.

Do not bother if you are not interested in bargaining and are willing to spend slightly more on the Patong streets and malls.

It is not a fun place, buy what you need and get out of there.

They only opened Saturday & Sunday night. It was great experience. Don't be afraid to bargain. Make sure u half everything if they don't give you the right price start walking out slowly.

We bought XXL singlet for my partner only cost us 2 for THBT 250, it's about $8. They wanted THBT 300 each.

It was cheaper to get clothes at Phuket night market than patong market.

Bring extra cash. Bring raincoat just in case start raining.

Stay away from pesky vendors. Great food/bar. Bangla rd was entertaining? Beach was nice. Lots of beach action. You 10 baht for using toilet most places. Tuk Tuk taxi available for sight seeing. You must bargain when you shop. People are very nice overall

The night market is definitely an authentic experience- don't expect glitz and glamour. If you are looking for some cheap bargains, this is the place. You can buy all sorts of thailand trinkets, clothing, DVDs CDs etc here and don't be afraid to haggle. I did think the prices here were a little cheaper than what you would find in town. The tents are low an its hot, but that's part of the experience. I did not try the food as it turned me off seeing the preparation and handling of everything- but always fascinating to watch. I thought it was a fun experience to go.
