“small and incredibly boring”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2011

The premium outlets here are rarely visited, either by tourists or by the local thais. For the former, especially cash-rich russian and chinese tourists, there is an absolute dearth of big-name brands which is unforgivable for a premium outlet mall. (read: no LV, no gucci, no prada). When we went there there was about a busload of chinese tourists who'd given up on the place and were just chatting in the functional (euphemistically-put) cafeteria for want of better things to do.

For tourists who aren't quite so financially blessed, the mall is still incredibly boring because it really is tiny. The most interesting things there were maybe Fox, surfer's paradise, some sports shops and that's really about it. everything else was forgettable, or else not what you'd expect to find in a premium outlet. The food selection is also pretty poor- there isn't a proper restaurant per se, a selection of fast food stands and a cafeteria.

Not worth the time or the money taken to travel here.

“A few bargains in amongst the designer brands - but you have to search”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 12, 2011

We also went to the Premium Outlet factory outlets on the By-Pass Road (but I would recommend Central Festival mall in Phuket Town or Jungceylon mall in Patong Beach as they are air conditioned and cheaper than Premium Outlet.

It consists of about 50 stores in 10 buildings lined along two walkways. Brands like Levis, Quiksilver, Adidas, Ripcurl, Nike, Hush Puppies etc. One example of shops that we bought from was Nike which was basically 40% below the retail price in New Zealand, but when we went, there weren't many choices in lots of brands.

Two big advantages over shopping in the main tourist areas were fixed prices, and no touts. The main disadvantages were that it wasn’t an air conditioned mall, there were no restaurants (only a funny smelling food court and an ice cream stand), it wasn’t cheaper than the markets, and obviously there weren’t any local items.

In short if you want a bargain you have to look really hard. We got a Reebok sports bag for 500baht (incl VAT) and a woman's Nike singlet for 1000baht and woman's Nike track top for 1900 baht. Not real cheap but 40-45% cheaper than NZ. Go elsewhere (night markets) if you want real bargains, but you have to put up with the crowds and the touts.

“Kinda boring”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 26, 2010

If you live at the ends of the earth, POM Phuket may be interesting, but shopping in Thailand can be so much more interesting, especially if you are coming from Australia, Europe or N. America. Some middling brand names and a very few bargains. Worst part was the overall experience - the mall is outdoors and walking from store to store is like being in an oven. It is therefore not very crowded - no atmosphere whatsoever. I found that I could not wait for the experience to be over; certainly not the effect its owners were intending.

“Great for size 10 or less with lots of money”

No real bargains to be found here, anything reasonably priced was only suitable for Thai women with no curves. Childrens items expensive but lots for girls, sorry boys not much here
