Rattana residence is amazing, pristine rooms, nice little gym, great price, helpful staff.

It's just in a really bad location, there's nowhere really to eat unless you want to take a risk with the local thai places, as vegetarians there was nothing we could eat, if you have your own transport or willing to pay extortionate prices for taxis you'll better to look elsewhere.

I can't really say anything bad about the hotel, at all. Clean rooms with modern furniture, great service (though English is not by any means a marketable language in these parts of town), and nice gym. Still, this just doesn't seem like the ultimate way to spend a vacation. It's far, and by that I mean remote, from basically -anything- of interest in Phuket. To get anywhere in the timespan of 30 minutes, you'll have to either grab a taxi (minimum price 300 baht) or rent a motorbike (300 baht a day). If you have plenty of time, though, you could get to a beach or semi-interesting site within 1 hour, if you manage the couple or three bus changes you'll have to make.

Well, it's a homely hotel, so I suppose you don't have to go out everyday. Yet, there are no restaurant in the hotel, and neither on the street nor anywhere where you can walk within 20 minutes. There are a couple of 7-elevens, Family Marts and Thai-food stands nearby, but sincerely, I wouldn't want to live on that for 1 or 2 weeks. 'specially not on my holiday.

To sum things up, I think this is a great hotel, located at a horrible location. Thus, I can't rate this higher nor lower than 3/5. Probably, I should also mention that it's extremely cheap for its class, in particular for those staying for a month or longer.

We stayed here for 1 night to break up the journey between Krabi and our flight to Bangkok the next day.

The hotel is very new and the rooms are spotlessly clean with good wifi signal.

The only downside is, it's several kilometres out of Phuket Town, so there's not really anything to do on a night without getting taxis etc. There are some small local cafes and shops nearby, so you won't be completely stuck.

This hotel is ideal for a 1 night stopover, but not for any longer. This is purely because of it's position..

I could not fault the hotel itself in any way. Shame about the location.

The hotel is ok for a short stay - it definitely needs more cleaning of the suites (bathroom and kitchen especially) and resolving the sewerage smell that is coming out of the bathrooms. Location is far away from anything so you need a car.

This hotel is fine, the rooms are clean and spacious, but the hotel is really far away! It seemed ok at first, it's a 20 minute scooter ride to Kata or Rawai beach. After three days of doing this trip there and back twice a day, it lost it's appeal. The hotel is fine but you definitely need a scooter or car (the hotel has these to rent)
