“a very special place to stay”
Reviewed July 31, 2013

We are just back from the village resort and we have nothing but good things to say. Everyone took very good care of us from the moment we arrived until we left. Our room was excellent and cleaned to a high standard every day, cleaning staff nearly always left lovely little towel displays, these things make your stay special. The swimming pool was just right, never too busy, perfect. Staff at front of house were always on hand if you should need anything, nothing was too much trouble. It was a wonderful peaceful place to be we would go back tomorrow.

Room Tip: we were in the middle area room 517. We thought it was nice and quiet.

We just came back three days ago from this little slice of heaven.
We were here for a glorious and relaxing 9 days and it was just what we needed.
From the very start, the staff were helpful and pleasant and always accommodating.

Our villa (528) was very comfortable and we enjoyed the massive tub. I really love the terracotta themed bathroom and cemented marbling. It made it harder to slip over which was good. I loved the fact the bedroom was seperated by sliding doors from the rest of the villa.

The air conditioning system worked a treat and we were very spoiled in our stay. The villas are surrounded by lovely tropical plants and the decking leads you to the tranquil and lovely swimming pool. I really liked the swim up bar- the cocktails are strong but delicious.

We did use the massage and spa place once- and we were let down a bit by this. My husband's masseur kept leaving every few minutes which was annoying. However, this does not detract from the overall experience of the resort- as this was one individual.

Breakfast was included- it isnt that exciting but it is alright. The Thai food was always chicken and rice or chicken with some sort of noodles. Toast, croissants, pastries, cereals, etc of course included. Eggs cooked any way. Was a good selection but not the nicest food.
However, their room service food was enjoyable so I cant detract any scores from this.

We really loved staying here. It is right near Karon beach- lovely to be able to walk 200 metres to the beach. Right near Karon village. Food recommendations: Red Onion, Elephant Cafe and Number 6- up the hill- in Patong.

Thank you very much The Village for a lovely and relaxing week.

Room Tip: 528. Doesnt have a swim up pool but it doesnt matter- you can just walk a few metres to the pool.

-Wonderful friendly staff that will go to great length to help you with almost anything you need assistance with, all so professional yet welcoming.
-The villa's and resort itself is stunning, great design and decor of the entire facility. Modern yet still very much thai inspired. The pool is great, the restaurant is great, the food is great and fairly reasonably priced. The spa is also amazing and definitely worth visiting especially since your first visit is half price.
- Room service is great, i was abit messy with my clothes and things and they even helped me fold them up into piles near where they were laying, and placed on the side so it was out of the way! Amazing. They have a system where you flip your room number plate to the green side when you leave your room and its ready to be serviced and you flip it to the red side when youre in the room and you dont want to be disturbed.
-You can leave your room key with the front desk every time you go out and they will hold onto it for you until you arrive back at the hotel, the reception is open 24/7.
-Staff give really helpful info on where to go, the price you should be paying for things and really anything you need help with- cant stress how friendly and wonderful they are!

Only downside is probably the location, its a little far from Patong or any central areas, a cab to Patong cost us $10 AUD one way. We made friends with a few taxi drivers that we kept calling every time we went out and they gave us a slightly better price, but you don't really want to do that since they earn so very little already (90% of the fare goes to their boss).

excellent room service but need to remind them daily to do / clean up it otherwise it would be missed
excellent front reception staff, willing to advise on places to dine, visit, helpful to check in to your flights if you wish so
however breakfast within average, no much choices
TV programs and screen below average, no free Wi-Fi net

We arrived hot and tired from two long flights to be greeted by the really friendly staff with a cool refreshing drink. We were then taken to our garden villa and our bags carried for us. The villa was beautiful! There is an initial sitting room, with a TV/video, mini bar, day bed, tea/coffee and a writing desk. There's a huge bathroom with a sunken bath and a massive walk in shower. The towels were replaced every day and separate towels provided for the pool. Opposite the bathroom is a dressing room (fantastic!) with a safe and hairdryer. Complementary bath robes, flip flops and umbrellas were also provided. The bedroom is massive with one of the biggest beds I've seen. We had a lovely welcome message in petals on the bed. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and the AC much appreciated.
The breakfasts were great, fantastic variety including cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, salad, toast, cooked breakfast, tea/coffee and fruit juice. This kept us going till late noon.
The pool area was immaculate, the jacuzzi, small pool and swim pool were a welcome break from the heat. The swim up bar with the happy hour was a particular favourite, with the drinks being mixed by Henry and Tanwa.
The hotel/resort is quiet, with only 34 villas and we had the pool to ourselves some days. It's a short walk to the beach and into the centre of Karon, about 5 mins.
We had a brilliant stay and the hotel staff made us feel so at home and welcome. We would stay here again and would highly recommend the hotel for couples who want a quiet relaxing stay.

Room Tip: The garden room 514 is quiet, close enough to the pool but far enough away not to be disturbed.

My partner and I had a wonderful week long stay in July 2013 at the Village Resort and Spa. From the get go we hopped off our airport shuttle and got greeted warmly by reception staff. We got given a cool drink and had our bags carried to our room. This hotel has personal villas which are perfect for a couple. We had a large bathroom, bedroom, walk in wardrobe and lounge. The villa was very clean and tastefully decorated, we were not a far distance from the pool or breakfast area and I personally thought being in a Tropical Villa rather than a Pool Villa did not mean that we missed out. Every day at breakfast there was a large selection and we were always treated amazingly by the staff throughout the hotel grounds. Every day when we left or arrived back to the hotel the reception staff always had a chat with us about our day. There was a pool bar at the hotel and happy hour from 4-5pm with 2 drinks for the price of one was great!
We would not hesitate to stay here again in Phuket, it was exactly what we wanted and a wonderful paradise we didn't want to leave!

Stayed here for 12 nights in June 2013 (low season)in a garden villa. Very quiet and tranquil with fantastic staff who couldn't be more helpful. Hotel very popular with honeymooners and older persons who value privacy. An easy 5 minutes walk to the Beach, Restaurants and Shopping. Swimming pools were superb, sparkling clean, and at just the right temperature. Breakfast buffet could be more varied though.

Room Tip: Email hotel direct for cheaper quote, especially in low season
