We stayed there in May 2011 for 4 nights. The rooms are a dated and need renovation. The food is of good quality, although diner is only served from 1900-2100 and it can get crowded and tough to get a table just for 2 .
The wine served during lunch and breakfast was ok, but the red wine was not drinkable at the pool bar at all.
The beach is fab, although you have to cross a small road to get there.
Beware of the staff, the prices are way to high. You can find multiple spa places across the road which are way cheaper, especially the one across the road from Club Med.
Some of teh G.O's are nice, some think they are superior than the guest and do not even say hello back to you.#Have stayed in multiple Club Meds and this one is not matching Club Med standards.

This Club Med was amazing! I was blown away by the most amazing resort, it was beautiful! All the G.O's were the nicest people ever but if you are planning on going look out for my favorite 3, Otto, Teens Club Leader, Jodie, Junior Teens leader and Phil, Circus instructor! The Service was incredible, the rooms were stunning, the food was unimaginably good, and the greatest thing was you could never get bored! There were so many fun activites weather it was on the beach, in the pool or just around outside the resort which by the way was amazingly located because it was so close to the town and it was not like you had to drive forever to get somewhere! Overall an amazing family friendly holiday that I recommend to EVERYONE!

We recently enjoyed 7 days of relaxation and fun at Club Med Phuket. It is important to understand that what Club Med offers is somewhat different to what your typical 4 or 5 star resort offers and expectations should be set accordingly.

Club Med Phuket provides an wide array of different activities throughout the day to keep the whole family busy. The schedule is jam packed from 10am through to midnight every day.

The Kids Club was fantastic. We found the G.O's in the kids club very friendly, attentive and caring. We noticed them constantly giving the kids water to drink, applying sun cream and ensuring they were happy. The kids got to enjoy everything from arts & crafts, swimming, sports, trapeze, playtime and more.

The standard of the food was very good. We had a particular weakness for the white chocolate bread. Club Med has built 5 different dining areas which is very clever as it gives the diner the feeling of eating in a different restaurant each time. I have found eating at Club Med's can get a bit monotonous at times but the separate dining areas helps break the monotony.

There are 2 separate pools. The main pool is very functional and practical. It is not a beautiful pool by any means and needs some landscaping / water features to help soften the look and feel. The pool area was very busy during the day and seats were hard to find after 10am. The other "Zen" pool was adults only and seemed a lot more calm and serene.

The Club Med resort is huge. It spans almost the entire Beach (check out Google Maps, look for Kata beach). Try and be close to reception as the walk can be fair distance if you are at the end. We were in Block K which was great.

The rooms are not 5 star quality but they are nice, comfortable and practical with a Thai feel. The bathroom is fine but a bit on the smallish side. At the end of the day, the rooms are perfect to sleep in and maybe have a siesta. The rest of the time is filled with activities outside so no need to spend much time in the room.

Sports facilities are fantastic, they practically have everything on offer you can think of (trapeze, archery, golf, tennis, football etc.). To get to the beach you have to cross a road but that really is not an issue at all. Club Med have dedicated beach chairs and umbrella's for guests.

On our second last day a conference rolled in from Korea. The atmosphere changed in an instant. The resort had the Conference banners all over the place. People were walking around with lanyards around their necks. The conference took over one of the dining rooms and there was literally nowhere for people to sit and eat. People were walking around with platefuls of food looking for a table.

We were thankful we only had to endure 1 day of the conference as I don't think we could have tolerated more. It almost spoilt what would have otherwise been a perfect stay.

Room Tip: Ask for close to reception.

Really enjoyed our stay... Found all the staff so helpful and accomodating. Had to check out two days early to return home unexpectedly and the manager even signed a letter so that I could request a credit from headoffice.

Pool was good with plenty of lounges and easy access to the bar. Lifeguard was reassuring, and friendly with the kids.
Food was amazing..... in both quality and quantity!! I think i gained about 3kg's in less then a week.

Right to request block M, N, O... etc as the walk from reception is a little far. Adjoining rooms was good with the kids and despite only getting out a couple of nights the entertainment (shows) around the pool in the evening looked of a high quality.
Kids lived the kids club, and when my wife went to collect them, the oldest actually told her to come back later!
The only complaint is a lack of any room service, and that the walls are paper thin and you get a lot of noisy people late at night walking past and returning to their rooms.

All inclusive food and drinks was great and I would definately recommend travellers to try a Club Med at least once for the experience.

Room Tip: Blocks further away from reception are a bit of a walk, but less noisy guests walking past late at n...

Our family have always been loyal Club Med goers and, through the years, we have visited Club Meds in, Marrakech, Bintan, Bali, Mauritius, Cherating and Phuket, of which the latter has been particularly popular. As a child, I loved Club Med Phuket for its incredible facilities such as the impressive and fun kid-friendly pool, the vast tropical gardens to run around in, and the intricate landscape architecture weaving around ponds and lush vegetation, not to mention the well organised and fun Kids Club. However, returning as a young adult, I was easily entertained by the engaging GO nightly shows and laid-back bar atmosphere, with great music and dancing. Being an all-inclusive resort, I found it particularly convenient taking part in several sporting activities, such as archery, tennis, volleyball and golf, with the flying trapeze being the main highlight of each day, thanks to the vibrant and extremely helpful instructors. Similarly, the food was delicious and diverse. I would highly recommend Club Med Phuket to travelers of all ages, predominantly to families, and I would like to extend a particular thank you to the wonderful staff members; Jodie, Kory, Phil and Kelsey, for being so welcoming and making my personal experience so enjoyable on all fronts.

My wife and I stayed at Club Med, Phuket from the 7th of April - 17th of April. We couldn't fault the accommodation, food, entertainment, the staff.
While there, we had a Tsunami alert, due to two earthquakes in Indonesia. The staff at Club Med acted with the maturity and professionalism beyond belief ! There only concern was for the safety of the guests.
Luckily, nothing came of the Tsunami alert. But it was very comforting to know that the staff were fully trained to deal with such matters.
Every member of staff always greeted us with a smiling face - and a friendly word :)

We returned to Club Med Phuket because we had such a great time two years ago. The kids love the KIds Club and they made great friends again. With kids, the all inclusive holiday package works exeptionally well as it covers meals and drinks. The food is great, so be prepared to gain a few kilograms or stay active. We hired a scooter to get around but there are busses, taxis and Tuk-tuks on every corner. If you do decide to hire a scooter, take an old passport along as you need to leave your passport in exchange. Although you can exchange Forex at the hotel, you get a better rate at the money changers just outside the airport and the hotel. We were at the hotel during the Tsunami warning on 11 April. The staff and management were brilliant in the way they managed the evacuation. Although it became a non-event, their actions during and after the incident, were exceptional. While we were waiting at the evacuation point, they brought water, snacks, nappies for the babies and had first aid people assisting us. This team is very special and they did a supurb job at taking care of us.
