This was my first stay at the Old Phuket which I can recommend
to everybody who likes a quiet and restful place to enjoy your
holidays. The service was very nice and the staff very friendly.
I enjoyed my stay with pleasure.

Room Tip: I think that all the rooms are well situated

this is my second stay. i booked myself a week's holiday and was surprised to find out upon arrival that i was given a private room with private jacuzzi. it's really like a cherry on top of a cake. pure surprise.

the last time i was here, i stayed at sino wing which is opposite the block that i was staying at the moment.

the room is spacious, clean and cozy, it's really a home away from home, a "home" to come back to after a tiring night outside.

what i didn't like about this hotel though is the wifi policy. i thought it would be generous to grant access to all patrons who have paid for the room, but it's not the case, a day's rate is TBH200, TBH700 for a week and TBH500 for 7 hours. i think to charge for something that's so readily available outside is unthinkable.

i also didn't like the breakfast selection, i thought it would be good to have a thematic breakfast on different days, imagine eating the same breakfast everyday if you staying for more than 3 days. but of course, you can always give it a skip altogether and go eat outside instead. there's plenty of food available.

what i do like about this hotel is the exclusivity, it's peaceful and serene, though it's in the heart of karon, but it's never overly noisy or bustling, once you entered the guard house, it's feels like a different place you are entering leaving all the buzz outside.

location is a plus too. it's within walking distance to the beach, the main road is serviced by bus to phuket town and patong. it's a stone throw away from all the good food, shopping and kata beach if you find karon is over populated.

Room Tip: Choose room at the newer wing.

It was out first time at the hotel and in Phuket, so like they say, first impressions last! It was amazing, the service was great and friendly staff all round. When our AC was not working, it was fixed within a matter of minutes. Then we had a problem with the safe and that was fixed so fast aswell. We had an amazing stay at the hotel and would recommend it to anyone going to Phuket. The best part of it all was that the hotel is very central aswell.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 4th floor are good.

This is the 3rd time we stayed at Old Phuket Hotel. 1st time at the Sino wing and the last 2 at Serene wing. The rooms at Serene wing are nice and spacious. Only feedback is the shower head which is getting rusty and no free WiFi provided at the rooms. Overall a nice hotel which is near to the beach. Will have a better review if the hotel provide free WiFi as this is so common for hotels.

This is our 3rd at Old Phuket on our 4th occasion to Phuket, Karon. It's the first time as a married couple though.

When we the hotel that this is our honeymoon trip, they decorated the room with 2 beautiful swans on the bed for us.

This is the 2nd time we booked the rooms at Serene wing and in general the rooms are still well maintained and clean.

The shock only came to us at the bathroom, the rain shower head had turned rusty and there are green mould growing on it. As for the normal showerhead, whenever we turn it on to shower, there will be a pungent smell. But this smell will go on after a while.

My hubby and I also accidentally cut our hand on the door knob of the bathroom as the metal piece on the knob is quite shape and need replacement.

We hope that The Old Phuket will consider our feedback and work on maintaining the property and rooms.

See you again Old Phuket.

Room Tip: Rooms at the serene wings are newer but the bathroom needs maintenance.

on our arrival, we found our room was quite a distance away from our friends who were on the same holiday trip. We had booked the holiday early and requested adjoining rooms. When we arrived 2days later than our friends we were on a different side of the hotel. I expressed my dissapproval at this and was offered an ajoining room 3 days later. Although deeply annoyed, i had no alternative but to accept this offer. The towels and pillows needed upgrading as they had passed their use-by date, the beds very hard and the pebbles in the bathroom were a natural breading ground for the dreaded mosquito. Every morning we awoke to 10+ bites. Free wi-fi should be readily available in the more expensive rooms as per other hotel chains. Scooters were old and below par re upkeep and 50% dearer than could be rented on the street. On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food excellent and security 2nd to none.

Room Tip: Had we not had a swim-out room, i think the holiday would have been dissappointing

The Hotel is old, granted as you can see with the decor and furniture. The beds were uncomfortable. We were traveling as a couple and we were provided a twin bed room....not nice. Our room seemed to have been interconnected to another room via a door, so we could hear the people next to us and am sure they cold hear us as well. Lack of privacy there. The Sino pool is got some nice views, but when I arrived there, the was no one to serve drinks...why have a bar with no staff in attendance??? Karon Beach is a short 2 minute walk from the hotel, there are shops and restaurants around the hotel. There is also Tuk Tuks and taxis available to take you to Kata and Patong. I don't think I would stay there again though.
