“Nice place on Karon beach”
Reviewed April 5, 2012

I'd do 4.5 if I could. The place was spotless, the staff friendly, and the rooms comfy and spacious. The breakfast buffet was expansive, with Asian, American, and European breakfast options. (omelet station, chicken and rice soup, fruit) and a few vacation breakfast splurges like ice cream. Pool area was gorgeous and inviting.

I stayed in 2 different rooms - one a first-floor pool access room (handy, but there were about 15 very hungry mosquitoes in my room when I checked in) and another an upper-floor pool view room. Both rooms were spacious. comfy, and very pleasant. Layout of hotel is a little strange with a long walk to the rooms that leads through the restaurant.

Pros: Pretty, comfy rooms; friendly staff; nice pool; across the street from a nice beach.

Cons: Lots of Russian tourists walking aournd the lobby and restaurant in naught but speedos at all times.

Room Tip: Only upper rooms have sea view. Thought pool rooms would be noisy but had no problem with that. Pool...

What a nice place. It seems a bit more like New England than Thailand in terms of decor, but you can't really fault the rooms or level of service. Clean, well run and friendly. Even their restaurant is surprisingly good.

Easy to get to either Karon town or Kata Beach too. The downside, like all hotels on Karon (and most on Kata and Patong) is that they are across the street from the beach rather than being right on it. Still from the higher floors you do have a view.

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and opt for the deluxe rooms.

The sea view rooms can have a small balcony and not really a great sea view. That is the only negative comment, albeit minor. We asked to move to a pool view and where the balcony could be bigger. The staff were fantastic and we were moved the next day. The staff really look after you, the breakfast is great and the location great too, just set back back from Karon beach.
The dinner offers look good but we have not tried yet, the spa is very good and also has a reasonably well equipped albeit small gym...a few exercise machines and weights. There are many little touches that make this a great place to stay and the cleanliness cannot be faulted.
I would have liked to see complimentary wi-fi which would have made it even better.
Overall, would use again, the staff make this a great place to stay!

I stayed with my two daughters (age 11 and 17) at the Andaman Seaview for one week at the end of February. We truly enjoyed our stay, and can warmly recommend the hotel.

We had a huge DeLuxe room with a bedroom, a living room, a walk-in closet, a lovely bathroom with a very big bath-tub and a balcony overlooking the pool and the Andaman sea. We just loved our room, and were happy for not having chosen Pool Access, as we found these rooms totally lacking privacy.

The best thing about the hotel was the extremely friendly and always attentive staff; everybody did their very best to make us feel welcome and enjoy our stay. Breakfast was good with plenty of choices, but the dinner at the hotel (we had a themed buffet once) was really nothing to write home about. The layout of the hotel is not very good, as you actually have to walk through the restaurant at your way in/out from the hotel, which we thought was disturbing both for the hotel guests and customers in the restaurant. The pools were also quite small, and you had to get up very early indeed to get a sunbed by the pool. However, this was no major problem for us, as the wonderful Karon beach was only across the street.

We found both Karon and Kata to be much nicer than we expected, with lots of very nice restaurants (we would especially recommend Two Chefs and the Sunday Brunch at Hilton) and bars, and a great number of shops and massage parlors.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Andaman Seaview in Karon - it was a perfect start for our winter holiday in Thailand!

Stayed for six night at the Andaman Seaview Hotel during March 2012. The hotel is at the southern end of Karon Beach approximately a one hour drive from the hotel. Contrary to the implication of the hotel name, room 104 certainly has no view of the Andaman Sea.

Upon arrival, the friendly and welcoming staff dealt with the formalities and greeted us with a refreshing fruit juice. We were upgraded to a room offering direct pool access which to be honest was of no interest to us whatsever, in fact we felt that the room was not especially private due to the sunbathers outside.

As noted by several other reviewers, I felt that the hotel is a little passed it's best. The plumbing system is noisy, the air-conditioning also noisy with a defective thermostat which was reported to the maintenance staff but remained unresolved despite their interventions. I was provided with three kettles before one was found that actually worked.

On a positive note, the staff are exceptionally welcoming and friendly, they seem to try hard to ensure customers are left witn a positive experience. My slight criticism was of the reluctance of reception staff to call a taxi, instead suggesting I venture out on the street to hail a taxi or negotiate with the abhorrent tuktuk drivers. Quite frankly I would expect it to be not too much trouble for reception to simply call for a car.

The hotel seems very popular with Russians, they were certainly the largest client base in the hotel. Whilst I have no desire to take my foreign holidays surrounded by other Brits, the Russians appear a cold, dour group of people and not quite as affable as us Brits.

Food in the hotel is adequate, breakfast is a buffet with assorted fruits, cereals and a wide variety of hot dishes. I didn't eat dinner but noticed that a large buffet was laid on for the Full Moon Party, the food looked nice, once again a buffet with a variety of meat, seafood and assorted Thai and Western dishes, this extravaganza costing just short of 700bht per person. Unfortunately every morning at breakfast, the hotel management treat the guests to piped music playing throughout the hotel dining area, after about the third day it became very tedious, we could have done without it.

Outside the hotel are a number of small restaurants and bars which seemed popular, I had a "takeaway" from one as we were tired and couldn't be bothered going out - my food was cheap and very tasty! There are also several shops offering massage, laundry services (which we used and were very good) and a convenience store for snacks and drinks at cheaper prices than ghe hotel minibar.

In summary, despite the welcoming and hospitable demeanour of the staff, I wouldn't come back, I would save a few money pennies and spend the money on a more expensive and luxurious place to stay. You get what you pay for.

If you are expecting a romantic hotel offering wonderful views of the ocean and cocktails overlooking the beach at sunset then this is not the place for you.
