“We really enjoyed our stay here - a great choice”
Reviewed February 26, 2012

We were delighted with this hotel. It's about an hour's drive from the airport.
We ended up in a deluxe/superior room - which was ENORMOUS! -far bigger than we needed. We had a huge living area with sofa, chairs, dining table, tv, fridge. In the bedroom area another tv, walk in dressing room and very large bathroom plus balcony. Everything was spotlessly clean.
The hotel is situated just across the road from the beach. We really liked its relatively quiet location -although a short walk over the ridge was the busy resort of Kata.
There is a lovely spa in the hotel. I had a couple of excellent massages there. It's more expensive than the many that you find all along the streets but has a lovely atmosphere and is much more private than the glassfronted street ones.
We ate dinner in the restaurant -as our deal was half board. The food was excellent, although I guess more expensive than some of the restaurants nearby.
The only downside for us was the lack of a decent bar. There is a pool bar but in the evening that had no atmosphere ........ and very few people!
Having taken advice from other trip advisor travellors we booked our trips through Asia Direct before leaving the UK - and were very pleased. We also took a taxi from immediately outside the hotel in Phuket town and a tuk tuk up to see Big Bhudda (well worth it).

Good Value. The resort is right across the road from Karon Beach and that makes it a great location. The property is well maintained and decently equipped it has 2 good pools. They have some really good shacks to eat just around the corner, whilst the resort serves some pretty good food too. The breakfast spread is superb in both variety and taste.
Unfortunately we rented a bike and met with an accident on the day of our arrival, the hotel provided us good support in this regard they took us to the hospital waited there all the while as we were treated and dint even charge us for the cab.
Other than that however the customer service was patchy, there were some folks that really went out of their way whilst there were others that dint care a dam, the lady at the reception was amongst the later. There was an instance where we requested the lady to have someone come with us outside the hotel to return the bike since we, but she refused and bought no valid reason o let her staff out of the premises, now this was just a two minute task but she flatly refused, needless to say we were quite pissed off at her, since we were badly bruised had to limp our way to return the bike and it was not only painful but left the bad taste of some real poor customer service.
A point in case of course, never rent a bike in phuket it is extremely dangerous, when we were taken to the hospital, I thanked god that we got let off lightly there were tons of people really badly bruised and battered with motorbike accidents, it’s really not worth it.
Other than the couple of bad service experiences, it still remains a hotel that I recommend. Ignore the couple of the staff and the others give you some really good service, Vincent is a point in case of someone who goes out of his way to serve guests.

It was our first time in Thailand,We stayed 15days, into this hotel, all we can say is a perfect and a brilliant services made by the staffs, We travelled a lot, but un this hotel, we felt like me and my wife treated by the staffs like a King and a Queen, anything we wanted is given to us immediately with a kind service and a great smile. As we couple are love to have a romantic dinner every night, we would like to thank Ms.Jennifer for preparing our table every night,She is one of the best honey of the Hotel, she knows how to listen and take action in every needs, and the good thing into this hotel is, all the managers in every department are helping out the restaurant during the breakfast in serving foods and greeting the guests in their table with a great smile, of course, Ms.Jennifer is one of them, she has a lovely and real smile, and she always make sure that everyhting is ok in our room, and everything we need we just let her know and everything will be fine.
We always have our dinner at the restaurant, they have a buffet dinner twice a week but we preffer to have the thai buffet, 'till we met this amzing guys at the restaurant, namely, Jojo, leonard and Prasan, they always, come to you with a smile and served gracefully. This is also the reason why we love to eat at the Hotel rather that outside because of this wonderful staff, you guys rock..
We also love music, but it would be better, if there is also lady singing, like the band during Christmas and Newyear,Ms. Jennifer is really amazing, as she can sing and entertain during the big events, solved every problem, nothing more we can say to her, she was totally amazing...The Andaman Seaview Hotel was highlighted by the talented, lovely and friendly staffs which makes this hotel a 5* service. We will recommend this Hotel into our friends, we can't wait for the next trip, once again thankyou very much Jennifer, leonard, jojo and prasan, for making our stay very enjoyable and for the special treatment. see you again guys, you guys rock...ciao!

Room Tip: book for deluxe room with seaview

I stayed with my sister over the New Year, the hotel staff are very friendly and the buffet breakfast is more than adequate. The hotel rooms are a little tired and expensive for the time of year. We found the partition/wooded slats that opened out to the bedroom area did not meet in the middle and there was a gap that unfortunately didn't give you enough privacy in the bathroom (we moved once and this was the same in both rooms).

The beds were very comfortable and the room service was good. The spa was lovely except it backs on to one of the pools and you could hear screaming children over the soft music which could be a little off putting when you are trying to relax.

The gala New Year Dinner which is mandatory (BHT6,800) was a buffet dinner with entertainment (not including alcoholic drinks), The food was very good but unfortunately due to a few greedy people the desserts dissappeared very quickly and much of the nicer options gone by 10pm (we saw several guests with plates piled high and left uneaten). It was a nice evening for this type of hotel, the only thing was they started taking down the decorations at 10.30pm which was a shame.

Overall the Andaman Seaview is a nice hotel for Phuket but I would prefer next time to stay in the Holiday Inn in Patong.

Room Tip: Try not to get a room with a connecting door.

Andaman Seaview looks at first sight really not bad. But closer look proofs the necessity of a 'make over'. Some painting is done while paint is peeling. Hotel is situated at the coast road, but not so close that the trafficsounds are a problem. Lobby is neat and reception is very friendly. That's general for this hotel: the staff is constantly working to please you.
Breakfast is good, enough and if needed they bring more, includes eggs made on demand. We had no experience with dinner; it's more fun to look outside for Thai restaurants. Just next to the hotel are some simple but good restaurants. In the village the Two Chefs (Swedish owners) is expensive but very good, like Kamping Kata Hill (Thai).
Wifi is OK but exceedingly expensive (comparising other costs; 300 bath for one day). The same is the hotel limousine. We arranged a meter taxi from the airport for 500 bath; the hotel asks 1.000 bath. There is enough drinking water available. Cleaning is okay but can be improved. Use anti-musquitos stuff. There were several Russian guest, but outstanding in behaviour; very nice and friendly people.
We had problems with the airconditioning (smell); with a little encouraging we got another room. Early bird service is okay. During checking out your room is checked if you take things (like towels) with you. In front of the hotel is a police station and there you can rent a scooter. It's okay to drive, use your helmet and you have a nice day. Bring your laundry just in front of the hotel. Excellent delivered after one day in plastic.
Overall: price/quality is okay. Service is great, rooms are okay.

De Luxe room was very spacious 75m2, even too spacious for two persons. Complimentary 4 water bottles per day and beach towel basket were nice suprise. Silent room. Friendly staff especially in spa. Pool area is quite small. Hotel is suitable for adults.

Room Tip: If you need a spacious room, book a de luxe room.
