Top class hotel - as expected - and the grounds and pools were perfectly kept. Restaurants good and not that much more expensive than at other local restaurants - and the ambiance, presentation and food was much better. Excellent buffet breakfast. It is however quite an expensive taxi ride to either Patong or Phuket.
The only disappointment of the stay was the beach opposite on Karon Bay, I know it is a public beach and the hotel is not responsible, but the 'grass' between the quite road and beach was strewn with cut down palm leaves, old loungers, broken chairs etc etc, and those in use were old and tatty looking. I think the hotels along this stretch should have some sort of say in how it is maintained as it definitely detracts from the area.

Room Tip: We had deluxe Sea View plus room in the Andaman wing, but really I think most rooms had good views...

Stayed for 10 nights mid July and was very impressed with almost all aspects of the hotel. It is very, very big with beautiful grounds and plenty of sunbeds. room upgraded on arrival and was very impressive great bathroom and spacious modern well furnished room. Balcony was large with a daybed and sea view excellent for relaxation and reading.

Used the Thai restaurant a number of times as Thai food well presented and tasty as well as well priced, as you would expect steak and western style food much more expensive as are wines and other such drinks. Breakfast restaurant not up to same standard food and service good but limited area for the size of hotels and always seemed a little too crowded.

location is good while not having its own beach it is only separated from the beach by the beach road and 2 x sunbeds plus shade available for the day for approx £4. Very good restaurants only a 10 minute walk away on beach road.

Overall highly recommended

I am a Hilton Diamond member and stay exclusively at Hilton properties all around the world, and am sadly disappointed in this property. Yes, the welcome cocktail and cold towels were a great touch at check-in, but you cannot judge a property alone on the welcome amenities. The customer service at the hotel is extremely lack-luster and the "could care less" attitude shines through at every turn. Even the event desk staff, who is generally friendly and wants to sell you tours, was less than desirable. There is a Thai restaurant in the hotel that was nothing less than awful! We ate there twice, and both times we left food on our plates and left the restaurant. The pool-side lunch was fantastic, and customer service there was slow, but friendly. The shower in our room was overflowing and draining on the floor, and not fixed while we were there. Also, the insulation on the lamp cord was frayed and I was shocked when I switched the lamp off. Also, this was not fixed. The executive lounge was average. The location of the property in quiet and relaxing. A quick 15 minute ride to Patong will bring all the excitement that you will need if that's what your looking for. Otherwise, there are restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk of the hotel that were pretty good.
The property is in desperate need of a make-over and it's age is showing. The value is great for location. We paid around $130 a night, which is great in my opinion. If I were to visit this area again, we will NOT be staying at the Hilton Arcadia!

We are disappointed to know that our service was below your expectations. We sincerely apologize for the shortfalls you faced during your stay. I have addressed your feedback to our operations management team. We are reviewing the service and maintenance in order to fulfill expectations.

In regards to the property’s condition, we have started a refurbishment program. More than one third of our rooms have been completed including rooms at Andaman Wings A and B. This is part of our refurbishments aimed at enhancing guest experience. Our maintenance team has planned an intense maintenance program in buildings C and D to ensure the best room conditions.

Despite the disappointments, it is our pleasure to hear that you enjoyed lunch and service at the pool.

Was expecting more from this property it's definitely old and concrete 1970s in it's feel, certainly not luxurious. As a diamond was upgraded to this so called Lotus tower which is far from the beach, given just a standard room in this building, facing... the gardens. So much for treating diamonds well. The room has seen much better times. The hotel grounds and area look like they need some complete refreshing. At around $300/usd/night, i won't be coming back here again. Looking forward to the newer Doubletree to open.

The Junior Suite rooms in the Lotus building were not refurbished. Due to size of room and access to the panorama lounge, we upgraded you to the Junior Suite room. We apologize for not clarifying details about our refurbishment. Refurbished rooms are located in Andaman Wings A and B. Despite the category, the rooms are closer to the beach and smaller than the Junior Suite for your preference.

As a diamond member stayed in a fantastic room and excellent sea view the service was up to hilton standards and the executive floor and lounge was excellent service.
Check in was very fast and never had to touch luggage sent straight to room.
Swimming pool great with very relaxing waterfall did not use spa though looked very nice.

This was our second stay and we were greeted by "Welcome Home" written with flower petals on the bed of our Hilton Suite that we were upgraded to at an insignificant extra cost.
As in 2009 the breakfast is still enormous - there is something for everyone. Everything is really fresh and nicely decorated. A real feast. We didn't feel we had to wait long for omelets or toast, but then we went before 9, so Sails restaurant wasn't too busy at that time.
The Hilton Suite in the Andaman B wing is awesome even for 2 adults and 2 children - plenty of room for a roll-away bed or two. It has two separate rooms with sliding doors between. Two toilets, but only one bathroom. Huge corner balcony facing the sea. Ask for floor 7 or higher though, or you will not see the ocean.
House-keeping kept the room spotless, and always managed to have it done, while we were out. Very competent.
Sails restaurant serves a different themed buffet for dinner every night at around THB 1000 (approx USD 32) but you can also choose from the menu. Can't remember the price for the breakfast buffet because we had it complimentary, which is a nice touch for HHonors diamond members.
Café Cino by the Garden Pool right after the lobby area serves great ice cream, milkshakes, coffees, and many different sandwiches from morning till 9 p.m. Great service there - the ladies really made that extra effort when we ordered things and combinations of food and drink that weren't on the menu.
OBC (the new Ocean Beach Club) has a great location with a wonderful view to the beach and good food and service (although the same dishes cost more than at the other on site restaurants?), but since the flooring has been changed to black plastic planks instead of the light colors of 2009 the area has become unbearably hot.
We only went for the first day when it was cloudy - not many people go there now.
We also missed the deep pool and the diving board which the children had sooo looked forward to. All pools are now only 1.2 m deep - which is maybe to accomodate the increasing number of guests from Asia who do not swim...
The location of this property is great - in walking distance to "junk" shopping (which the children 9+12 loved) and to restaurants if you like to eat outside.
Do not miss the Dino Minigolf at Kata - 10 minute walk to the left along the beach road. Great fun in amazing setting (and I usually hate mini-golf).
Tuk tuk to Patong takes about 15 minutes at approx THB 400. They will want to drop you off at the center of town, but ask to be dropped off at the beach - it's much more fun. Patong is not very charming at night, go shopping there in the afternoon, where you can appreciate the beauty of the beach and the location. At night it just looks dirty

All in all another great stay at the Hilton - we always try to stay at Hiltons as my husband is a Diamond Member - and have stayed at many in the Caribbean. This is one of the best.

Room Tip: High floors (floor 7 and above) have ocean views. Lotus Wing is newer. Andaman Wing B has somewhat...

Was here for meeting...long hours meeting..thank God they served really good food..nice view from the meeting room and there's a pond in front of it..lychee drink was served during 1st day arrival at the receptionist area..

The room was spacious..and I really love the smell of the lemongrass they put in the bathroom..

However the service was a bit out when checking out. I call up the bell boy several times to pick up our bags, but he never show up..

Most of the time I was at the hotel. However my husband was around. He rent a motorbike and we managed to go to Kratong at midnight-the only free time I got..the ride took about 20mins..so in order for you to go the nearest city you have to rent bike/car or call up cab..
