Stayed here with husband for 7 nights in August. Staff very welcoming and it a lovely touch when you arrive to get cold towel and coconut drink.

The villa was lovely, superb views. Bed is huge and comfortable and the room just perfect size. The previous reviews are right there is a bit of a climb to the villas, however the setting and surroundings are worth it. (It's a good way to work off the thai food and cocktails). ;0)

Breakfast in the morning was ample, lots of diverse foods and fruit.

Great location for getting to both Karon and Patong. The hotel has a shuttle bus twice a day, but we just used tuk tuks.

We booked a trip to James Bond island through the travel centre and it was amazing. The company that took us out were very professional and it was a great day. It's expensive, but so is everything for tourists in Thailand. Just go and enjoy x

No complaints all good.

We just came back from a 4D 3N stay at the Centara Villas with a group of friends. This review is a combination of good and can be improved experiences.

Reception - we were greeted warmly and due to our group of 4 couples and several other incoming guests coming in all at once, we were asked to wait at the adjoining Cliff view restaurant while the reception team sorted us out. Fresh coconut drinks were provided upon arrival which was nice. However, our rooms were not ready until 2 hours later than our arrival (mind you, we arrived on time for the check-in at 2pm). Since we were not in a rush, that was fine by us but it would've been even better if we were kept informed of our situation rather than having us check with the reception every now and then.

Since the villas are located on the cliffs, buggies (or minicars as they call it) were provided. The rooms were standard in terms of decor and facilities, but was kept very clean. Small signs of ageing which we hope management will look into soon to maintain the hotel's standards. Bathrooms were also clean and shower was strong. Nice touch was a skylight above the shower so that you can save some energy. Commendable were the housekeeping team who were very quick in turning the rooms around everyday.

We manage to pamper ourselves at the spa a couple of times and each time was a great experience. The therapists were attentive to our needs and as a group, we enjoyed our "downtime" tremendously.

Staff overall were friendly but perhaps a little more english language training for them will be great so that our requests wouldn't need some repeating. It's really not a problem but it's good for their own development, I think and will give them a boost of confidence! Staff handling our requests to get to either Karon or Patong towns were quite efficient and ensured that we enjoyed their new vans to shuttle us where we wanted to go.

Breakfast spread was ample enough to cater to several tastes - both local and continental. We had a couple of lunches at the hotel during our stay too which wasn't too bad at all. The food served were quite tasty and we have nothing much to complain about especially when we had them facing the waves crashing against the rocks below us! There is an access to Karon Beach but you have to be very careful and adhere to the gate closure rules to be safe. Our friends enjoyed their morning walks.

Pool was not very big so if the hotel's running a full house, it may not leave you with enough room to swim around. Just a good-to-know, I guess.

Overall, we had a pleasant time there.

Room Tip: Just be aware that whichever room you choose, you have to be prepared to trek up and down the cliff...

We stayed here for 18 nights, the rooms and location are great but the service particularly in the evening left a lot to be desired. The cliff top restaurant was closed down the day we arrived for the duration of our stay (something they failed to mention until the night before we arrived!)

Only had a couple of evening meals, one evening meal they tried to serve the main course minutes after the starter, the mains came back cold were returned and when they came back they had just reheated the meal (my steak had the cut out piece missing!) sent them back and yes they tried to serve the same meals again!
The BBQ was offered complimentary as an apology and this did not go well although we arrived at the very beginning there was very little choice and we kept having to ask them to fill some of the options and even then they just didn't get round to it, at least it was free if we'd paid the rather high price we might have been really disappointed. So really did not go well!

Breakfasts though were plentiful and available all the time advertised, house keeping and porter services were excellent and the evening views across the sea with the sounds of the forest all around were lovely.

Sadly this is a nice hotel let down by some really poorly trained restaurant staff and it seemed a lack of understanding of customer service, you can eat out much cheaper locally and although we would stay here again we would certainly not pay the cost of the evening meals as these really spoiled things somewhat.

Room Tip: Pool rooms are great but you pay a premium, try and get a villa that is lower down the hill as this...

Second time I've stayed here. It's idyllic - a haven for rest and relaxation. Stayed in a pool villa which gives privacy and a wonderful view over the sea and Karon Beach. Food was excellent and reasonable. Rooms clean and comfortable. cleaning staff do an excellent job daily. What really makes this place stand out however is the staff. They are amazingly friendly, and if you take time to talk to them, they will enhance your holiday experience no end. Excellent holiday

We stay at this hotel for 7 nights in middle August 2013.
Even the staff was good and the area fantastic, the smell in the room an the surrounding
area was......... !!!
We appreciate the wine and the fruits upon our arrival ( Honeymoon trip ), but that was all.
We asked several times to clean the bathroom due to stacked waters, but the next day the same
problems happened.
We believe that this hotel needs a renovation to the hydraulics .
The end of the path to the sea is very dangerous. Please be careful .

The only " light" to this hotel, is the Spa.

We stayed 7 nights and were so sad when we had to leave. The staff were so lovely...we are social people (44/47yo) and were there to enjoy ourselves not to pick faults. The views were magnificent from anywhere in the hotel. A free "new" hotel van/taxi to Patong and Karon every morning/afternoon. 250/300 Baht back to hotel from either. Yes there are stairs but free tuk-tuks run 24/7 and are heaps of fun to ride...Yes it rains and it's warm at night (your in Thailand) A/C and fans in rooms worked fine...yes there are bugs (your in Thailand)....no they don't speak perfect English with your accent (your in Thailand)...if you can't handle any of these things it's best you stay at home... The food was exceptional...something for everyone and always served with a smile... these beautiful people treated us like family and the service was excellent. Thank you Jee and your wonderful staff, we loved our stay and we are coming back in April next year.

Room Tip: Lots of stairs but free Tuk-Tuks 24/7 were heaps of fun up & down...we never climbed the stairs...

Dear Kylie Shane,

Thank you for your positive remarks about our staff and the service that you received during your last visit and the comments about the food.
Yes our location which is secluded and private lends itself to natural surroundings, which includes Mother Nature’s little critters, but as you said its part of the charm and the smiles from the staff are always free.

Yours sincerely,

Ross and the Staff

We had to change rooms four times due to insects in the room and water leakages. For a honeymoon it was hectic as everyday we would find a lizard, cockroach and spiders in the room and bath area. The service was good but they did not offer any discount to us for all the hassle caused. When we arrived they welcomed us with complimentary drinks but completely blanked us on our last day when we were leaving.

Dear Wshah,

Thank you for taking your time to let us know about the insect and water leakage you experienced during your stay with us.

We have dispatched our Engineering department to re-inspect your room and will hope that you understand that during rainy season in Thailand this is not uncommon.

Sorry about your departure being so informal, however, that particular day we had so many departures around the same time and lead little time for our staff to chat.

We do sorry that you have to change the room because of the leaking and insects but there was just only one time, for the rest of moving as you knew that you want to upgrade for 1 nights and then you change your mind to move back to your original booking all under your decision.

Sincerely yours,

Ross and the Staff
