“Great views but not for the faint hearted!”
Reviewed April 19, 2012

We booked a bungalow last minute, greeted by friendly staff. I stress that you must be physically fit to stay at this hotel as on a hill no wait steep cliff! ha ha.

Our bungalow was very clean and had everything we needed, a comfortable balcony with excellent views, a fantastic sun terrace with pleasant pool. Most guests favoured a moped to get up and down the hill. We used the hotel's friendly driver in his pick up truck! He can collect you free in the morning for breakfast and there are steps to walk back down.

Breakfast is disappointing, I would not bother, cooked next door it was cold by the time brought to us and distint lack of choice.

The owners and staff are very helpful, rooms lovely just a shame breakfast and that hill are there.

For a small charge the hotel pick-up truck will drop you into town for the evening! (better than a rollercoaster) but don't drink too much if you are going to negotiate the steep hill steps back to your room!

Tough its quite cheap because its not right on the beach, it is not a nice place to stay!
We didnt stay in bungalows because we didnt even know there are normal rooms too. Our rooms were very close to the road, it was very noisy. The rooms are not clean at all, the bathroom is just disgusting.
For breakfast you can choose between fried eggs and omlett, nothing else! We had to eat the same for two weeks! When we asked for something else, they said ok but never brought it.
Most of the stuff (90%) doesnt speak ANY english, it is so annyoing when you ask for something and they just smile and doesnt understand a word!
The tuktuk which is free to pick you up and take you down to the pool and back is a great idea. Would even be greater if the driver would not be so rude ! when we phoned him to pick us either he didnt reply or somebody from the reception told he was out of town. so we had to climb like 100 steps back to the room.

We had booked bungalows for 3 nights, but when we arrived they were overbooked. We got upgraded to deluxe rooms, but it wasn't really what I had expected. There was constantly a very bad smell in the room, especially in the bathroom. But other than that it was a good hotel with very nice view over Karon Beach. It's a very steep area, so walking up to the lobby from the room was never easy. Sometimes we could go with tuktuk up, but that was just a few times. I would not recommend this hotel to old or injured people, because of the very steep hills.

We have stayed here regularly for the last 5 years. The staff are always welcoming and friendly at this family owned hotel. Rooms are spotlessly clean. Fantastic views from high on the hill overlooking the Andaman Sea. Lovely pool area and steps leading down to Karon Beach. Peaceful and quiet. The Reception area is on a very busy road but don't let that put you off because the bungalows/rooms are down a very steep hill and thus away from the noise. This is really a little bit of paradise on busy Phuket Island. You won't regret staying here. Enjoy!!

We had to stay for a few days because of an overbooking. Views are great and that is all it has. Every hotel/B&B I have stayed in Phuket, you get free water. They charge - it seems they think they can get away with cheating the "farangs" over every baht possible and the breakfasts are total rubbish - do not bother trying it out, you will be very disappointed. Rooms are passable, creaky beds, noisy fridge but a good verandah - shame the outside light didn't work! There is a place next door that is cheaper, same views and staff wonderfull with no problems and keen to please....and free water!

We (2 adults and 2 children aged 7 and 3) stayed in two interconnecting rooms at a total of 3800 baht per night inclusive of breakfast. The rooms have airconditioning and hot water and are very clean. This is very reasonable for this time of year in expensive Phuket/Karon. The rooms are slighly dated but for this price we didn't mind. There were no reviews on Tripadvisor at the time and we were pleasantly suprised with the quality of accommodation.
The pool is of reasonable size and clean. The views from all rooms and excellent. Each room has a large balcony to appreciate the views. Short walk down to the nice/quiet end of Karon beach with cheap restaurants and good service. The hotel will pick you up from your room in a tuk-tuk due to the very steep climb to reception/breakfast. Our two children managed the climb without any complaints. This hotel was very quiet and well known to tuk-tuk drivers.
Slight Negatives:
1. No free drinking water is supplied...no big issue.
2. Smell from the sewage but this is a general problem in Thailand.

We called this the 2 star hotel with a 5 star view- for this price you won’t beat the sea view from the large old style balcony with wicker chairs & table overlooking the ocean through the trees that all the bungalows have. Very peaceful and the sound of the ocean and trees at night make it really special. Rooms are good sized but everything quite shabby and old. Fridge didn’t work when we arrived, but they replaced it quickly. Bathrooms are very outdated and made for midgets! Water from shower goes all over bathroom. Staff are pleasant and try to please but are not well trained and language makes it hard to be understood. No hairdryer in the entire hotel, no kettle for tea, no tourism information available at Reception, leaflets etc and no one has information. Dining area like a hostel, but fabulous views. I enjoyed our stay but felt I was back in the 70s… pool is nice and the beach far below is lovely… the steps are a bit tough if you are not fit, the tuk tuk will bring you up if the phone is working… As it is far from any shops or restaurants, you have to take taxi or rent bikes if you can face the hill traffic.. and bring some drinks for your room, the hotel bar is not well stocked. Has a special character to the place that you might like , if you don’t need the smartness & efficiency of a Western hotel. We loved the balcony and the view and decided that it made it worth it… I recommend it but be aware of the drawbacks of staying here..
