“Mosquito Central”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 24, 2014

We spent one night at this hotel and spent the first hour killing mosquitoes. We found at least 20 (including some of the dengue-carrying Aedes variety) before calling reception, who sent someone up to spray the room with insecticide, which killed at least another 20. So that means our room was home to at least 40 mosquitoes upon our arrival, which is pretty unacceptable for a hotel in a region where malaria and especially dengue can occur.

That aside, the room was also dirty: bathroom shelves were covered in dust, debris and hairs, there were scuff marks everywhere and numerous dead mosquitoes squashed against the walls - obviously previous guests had had the same problems as us! On the plus side, the beds were big, clean and comfy, the swimming pools were great and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Also bear in mind that this hotel only offers free Wi-Fi in the lobby area; if you want Wi-Fi in your room you'll have to pay for it, which always strikes me as a bit of a swindle. If most cheap cafes and bars can offer free Wi-Fi to their paying customers, surely a 3 or 4-star hotel can do so as well, without trying to squeeze even more money out of their paying guests?

This hotel was chosen for a beach break for myself and my mother in Phuket during a longer trip I am doing. We wanted a good beach and nice hotel in a quiet area. Nai Yang Beach resort really fit the bill.
It was a clean hotel and the staff were extremely polite and helpful. The hotel seems to largely be occupied by Russian people on package tours. I booked the hotel independently. It seems like very much a family hotel and quiet at night. Breakfast was all you could want without it being luxurious.
Nai Yang the area is much more relaxed and has a far less commercial feel to it than the other beaches on Phuket. There is maybe one or two late bars but do not go here expecting wild nightlife. The beach is clean and part of it is totally undeveloped as there is a national park on it, so you can sit quietly staring at torquise blue ocean with very few other people on that part of the beach shaded by the trees from the national park.
I would like to say a special thank the staff specially as they really couldn't do enough for me following a cliche motorcycle accident. They immediately had a car ready for me to take me to the local clinic who deemed my injuries too serious and sent me to the hospital. The hotel driver offered to wait for me whilst I was seen by the doctor. They really took the stress out of a difficult situation.

Two night stop over before my flight home. Room was spot on. Large with balcony on third floor. Quiet spot. Lift too.
Hotel is very popular with and geared up for the Russian tourists who flock to phuket.
Breakfast was good. Pool areas are nice but with the beach just across the road I didn't try them out.
Bar closes early.
Perfect spot for pre flight stop after travelling through Thailand.

We have stayed here 9 times now and it doesnt dissapoint, the staff are all very friendly and helpful we stayed in an oriental wing room which was always spotlessly cleaned and had the most comfy bed, looking at other reviews I agree there should be bacon at breakfast ( there was last year) and perhaps better toasters but apart from that all was good

We stayed at the Nai Yang Beach Hotel in Jan 2014. The hotel is set back from the Beach alongside a fairly busy road. First impression was that it did not look anything special from the roadside entrance, however , when we were shown our room we were very pleased with the size of the room, the cleanliness, the bathroom, balcony, air con and king sized bed. The swimming pool was of a good size and just about the right depth to do lengths but not ideal for small children.
Breakfast was a bit limited but perfectly ok. Tea,Coffee,Juice. Toast, butter and jam. Cooked Rice and a oriental dish most mornings. Choice of eggs, ham, sausage, tomato, fried potato. Various choices of cereal and fruit. You could eat as much as you like.
The walk from the hotel to the beach took exactly 5 mins ( I timed it). Fabulous beach with some great places to eat on the beach itself. Magical to sit and watch the sun going down , enjoying a drink and then something to eat.

I would recommend this hotel as good value for money and ideal for a few days stay.

Room Tip: No lift so be prepared to walk up and down possibly 3 flights of stairs.

Booked and paid for 2 rooms in Oriental wing. Not available so ended up in Tropical Wing on 3rd floor. Block had lift and was close to reception.

Pools smallish. Beach a little dirty due to the water sports going on.
Breakfast good - was included in my rate.

Beach front very very noisy at night. Many bars with loud music. Wat's bar directly across the road kept going to 4am.

Room clean and spacious. Was basic but fitted the bill. Bed quite hard (usual for Thailand).

Room Tip: Away from the beach.
